      Hello Tecnho,

you can upload pdf to kindle without any problem (docs I don't know, but I suppose so too), the thing is that you won't be able to interact with the documents (highlight words, look up definitions, etc.), unless you convert them to one of the other formats…

Calibre is fast and easy, it's worth doing the conversions to take full advantage of the kindle.

      I have a Fire and a Paperwhite and I couldn't be happier

      Best regards!

As for PDFs, the Kindle can read them, but it is highly recommended to convert them to Kindle format because this e-book reproduces it exactly as it comes. If the PDF is in A4 format, it will reproduce the A4 on the Kindle screen, so you will see the tiny font. You can zoom in, but you will have to scroll from left to right, which is a real pain, especially with an e-ink screen.

          Thanks for replying kalevala.

I will end up making the format change but I wanted to know firsthand if it fit well with the margins of said formats since my mom got a bit confused with the programs and this way I would only have to put them in directly.
The paperwhite seemed like a good idea but I bought one with tft before and the poor woman's eyes got very irritated, this one seems better lit but I will go for the one with normal ink because with that accuracy and its price now of 79€ it's a marvel.

          Thanks.

          @Cobito

Thanks, we wrote at the same time ;D well then it's the same as the rest, nothing I will do the dirty work myself XD, another question how long does it take to charge this one it currently takes 5!!hours to charge and I have had 3 RMA and the battery lasts about 1 week using it 1 hour daily and on the weekend about 2 or 3 hours daily, I think the charging time and the short battery life are excessive.

The charging time is also very high (I can't tell you exactly how long). The battery lasts about two months (I don't keep an exact count) using it for an hour a day, 4 times a week. Although you shouldn't pay too much attention to me because I haven't noticed this aspect.

I have the Kindle imported from USA two years ago and the battery life is high. It takes about 4 hours to charge and much longer from USB but it lasts me a couple of months easily, so it doesn't bother me. Depending on the expense of the books you read, but with one charge I can read a couple of books easily.

Man, lasting what you tell me is worth it, it's clear that it depends on the use but I think the one I have now is very little for that use, so I will buy this one along with the charger that I see is sold separately ¬¬ and let's see if it lasts, the truth is that it will be used a lot.

I've had it for almost 1 year and I'm very happy with it.
The battery takes about 4 hours to fully charge (I always charge it via USB) and if you read for about an hour a day, the battery lasts about a month or a little more.

It doesn't read.epub files, but that's easy to fix with Calibre, converting them to.mobi in a jiffy.
It doesn't read.doc files and I'm not sure, but I think I tried converting from.doc to.mobi with Calibre and it wasn't possible.

Regarding.pdf files, it's also a good idea to convert them to another format, as cobito said, depending on the format in which the pdf is created, it can be a pain to read it.

                    Best regards.

Calibre does not transform.doc files due to licensing issues. You can save.doc files as.rtf and then transform them with Calibre, although it is one more step …

Calibre is very agile and allows you to maintain your library (for example, if you have 1000 books on your PC and only want to put 20 on your kindle so as not to get lost while searching, you can easily manage the synchronization between your library and your kindle).

The battery lasts a long time, even if you charge it via USB (if you have an asus board there was an application that increased the intensity of the port so that devices charge more quickly). Do not ask for the charger. Almost any one with microUSB power supply will work (assuming that the kindle model you buy still has that port to charge).

If you want it for reading books, the e-ink has no competition, for font softness, contrast, absence of reflections. I assure you that it does not tire the eyes as any other backlit would, no matter what they say in the advertising.

Thanks, I already have more than enough information, thanks for the answers, the battery thing was the most important, and the formats, well, as before, if they are doc, I convert them to pdf and then to the kindle format in this case, I'll see if I order it tomorrow to have it for the 24th, the backlit one was the first one I bought and it was tft, I had to return it because it burned your eyes, then I got this one and there is no color but many faults, I hope with the kindle I'll be happy and it will last.

You won't regret it, I have one and another one I gave to my mother and she is delighted with it.
