Well, I just read this pretty interesting news on xataka, how do you see it?
-
Some details are missing, such as whether it will be a port to ARM of the original distro while retaining all kernel features or rather a Linux-based system like Android where all the versatility offered by the kernel has disappeared in exchange for simplification and ease of use. I prefer the former, but the only way it has any chance of making a dent in the market is to follow in Android's footsteps, which won't bring anything truly new, though alternatives are always welcome. -
If I had to ask, I would love it to be a port of the original distro on ARM with a different desktop interface and ready. And dreaming a little more, that it could emulate android decently to have all its apps.
If that were fulfilled, I would switch to ubuntu head over heels. If either of the two is not fulfilled, it has a hard time making a niche for itself or standing out from the others.

I imagine that the issue of installing Android applications will be a matter of the package manager, just like DEB and RPM in other Linux distros but in this case APK. Probably, even if it doesn't officially support it, someone would come up with a patch or app to be able to use them.
Well, as long as it's installed on the same architectures as Android, which is what it seems.
