Well, it looks like Intel is going to try to take advantage of this situation. If they manage to lower prices thanks to that stock, they could make a significant dent in AMD's market share, which has been putting pressure on them lately even in laptops with very good numbers.

To be honest, I don't know what to tell you. At my job, we use a lot of Microsoft Surface Laptops, which have different models, including the Laptop Studio that can fold the screens in different positions and have a stylus. That said, I'm not sure I would recommend them, because it might be due to statistics, since we all use that brand and there may be close to 1000 units, but I see some strange things that I don't like, bugs. And then there's the connectivity, but I think this is something quite general when it comes to compact models.

According to the teardown video, there is no button cell battery in sight, so it must also be powered by the main battery.

I have made the measurements with the tester... and indeed they give 4.9v on several pins.
On the other hand, I have tried to do the whole process with another different laptop and the results have been these:

    • In detect, on the left side the values are at 0.
    • The reading process reaches 100%, although there is no data
then it no longer allows you to perform the following steps....
      Here I have several doubts:
    1. The chip recognizes and works well with the 4.9v, and the problem is found in a bad connection of the clamp.
    2. The chip is blank or fried.
    3. How can you check the status of the chip (25Q32BV) in a simple way (Without oscilloscope)

@Sylver Hello and thank you very much for responding and for the congratulation, you see that was my idea but there are so many devices on the market that I don't know which one would be the most appropriate and that has Chat GPT, I think I will go to Mediamarkt and that the employees advise me.
    Thank you very much.

A reliable way would be to cycle the battery and measure the energy it can store. This could be done by comparing the duration of a battery in good condition under intense and constant load. There are apps like this one, that serve for that. Once you have the duration of the type battery, you can compare other batteries.

If you want to build yourself an invention, with a multimeter and a resistor, it could be worth it. You would have to measure how long it takes for the battery to discharge and take voltage or current points from time to time. With that and some simple calculations using Ohm's law, you can find out the percentage of charge left in the battery.

If you want to automate the process, a cheap way would be with Arduino, which would also allow you to check multiple batteries simultaneously. If the battery is less than 5V (unless you are going to check laptop batteries, that would be the case), you can connect it directly to an analog input of the microcontroller. If you are going to use batteries of higher voltage, you can use a voltage divider (once again, Ohm's law is your friend). You put a resistor and write a program that periodically measures the voltage. Knowing the value of the resistor, the voltage over time and total discharge time, you can find both the total charge (Ah) and the total energy (Wh) and that value you can compare directly with the battery specifications. The calculation can be done in the Arduino programming and returned through the serial port.

Thanks @sylver for the quick response. That's the problem, when I put the Windows from 0, which has a random driver, it looked bad, then a driver was installed by Windows that allowed it to go up to a resolution of 1920x1080 and then I installed the latest version of Catalyst. In all of them it looked terrible. Also, when booting with the Acer logo, instead of seeing the black screen, it's red. I think I'll have to open it up and if I'm lucky, the GPU isn't soldered ?

    Motorola Defy.
You no longer need Star Link or other expensive satellite services to venture into remote places without coverage. With this compact device protected at IP68 level, 600 mAh, and GPS, you will have instant messaging and an SOS button that works independently of the mobile, in any remote place or without coverage.

For $150 the bundle with annual subscription allows up to 30 bidirectional messages per month and SOS assistance.

They also mention that Motorola and Bullit smartphones will come with satellite communication.

    Salu2.

@defaultuser I now have the 3.0 as I suppose most do, but before I had the first DNIe (the top two in the photo).

And I have used both without any problem with the same reader, with the known limitations that I talk about above, as a way of advice to use it easily (original and updated Windows 10 / W11, and connect the Smart Card reader a few seconds before opening Microsoft Edge, so that it is configured, a matter of drivers that Windows itself already has and so on).

Simply using another browser, or using it on another OS that is not Windows, requires extra effort and configuration, or it may make the task impossible.

@cinusara look at what the maximum data transfer of your sata port is and buy an SSD accordingly, if it's higher it will run at the maximum speed of your motherboard, not faster... So you might be throwing your money away (unless you want to reuse it in another newer PC (doubtful since new ones come with M2))

@jordiqui Thanks. I would have liked it to have worked better functionally, but well.

On another site, they gave me a tip to avoid bubbles: spray isopropanol with an atomizer as the film is being applied.

The truth is that it is a very unsuitable laptop for gaming because of the STN screen and because it doesn't have a sound card. With an external monitor, you can solve the poor response time of the screen, but the sound issue has little solution that I know of.

In any case, for games with static images where sound is not fundamental, it could work well. I was thinking of trying I have no mouth and I must scream, which I think is a perfect game for this machine, but I'll leave it for another time.

@inminent said in Problem with iPhone 8:

Hello, I hope you are well, I would like to ask a question. I have an iPhone 8 that suddenly turned off (it had enough battery) and wouldn't turn on anymore. I took it apart and tried to reconnect the battery, I put it on charge and it started from 0%... It reached 100% and turned on, but now the lock button turns on the screen but won't turn it off... (and if I hold it down, it lets me turn off the phone) it's very strange... Also the volume down button isn't working properly, what could have happened?

    Thank you in advance

Possibly the connector that goes to the lock button or the volume button's circuit board got disconnected during the battery repair process. That is, if the cable hasn't broken... or been damaged, which would be more serious.
I would try to take it to a service center to get it repaired, if you don't want to complicate things too much. Also, if the battery has failed, I wouldn't trust the phone's health very much.

    Best regards!!

@qvengador To sum up, it seems that those considering Realme recommend stretching the budget up to 450€ which allows you to buy the Realme GT 2 8/128GB.

You can easily find it on the website of the price comparison tool that I sent you in the private message.

    Best regards!
