Although it may seem strange at this point, a new X79 has come out, this time from EVGA,
EVGA X79 DarkIt is well known that Evga has had and continues to have a lot of problems with its X79 motherboards. Now, to make amends, they have created a motherboard from scratch.

It is curious that even in their advertising, it appears as "the answer". I imagine that in response to the barrage of well-deserved criticism for all the problems their X79 motherboards have been causing to date.
Honestly, of all the motherboards I have tested, and they have been a few, the best motherboard I have had is the X58 Classified, solid as a rock and completely stable, without any problems. It is still holding its own here. ;).
So if things don't go too wrong and after having Asus Rampage Extreme, Asrock Ext. 7, and MSI Big Bang, I will finally try an EVGA on X79. It has not yet been released for sale, it is expected for the first half of July. Let's see if it is what they say…............

If I already saw the kingpin who got first in 3dmark11 with one of those, they have taken their time and Ivy-E is almost here which I suppose will bring another chipset, so if it's a bit late, I hope that the new 2011 boards for Ivy-e will finally fix the SB-E problems, with Pcie3 or with virtualization, in addition to activating sata 3 and USB3.

Ivy-e comes in the same socket, you just need to update the bios, it won't be until Haswell when they change to 2011-3, the new socket.
With ivy-e, it's supposed to fix the mess of the pci 3.0 of X79, in addition to more native sata 3 and usb 3.0.Anyway, if it's delayed too much I'll skip it, my big, just keeps surprising me, now I'm pushing the memos up to 2500, totally stable.
I'll wait to see the Evga forums, which are pretty hot with the X79 board issue. Apparently they fail more than a carnival shotgun. Let's see how this one turns out…

I already know it will be socket 2011 but I was referring to the new chipset, haswell-E seems to be X99 and it's very possible a X89, I mean I bet that with ivy-E they launch X89 boards, which will still be socket 2011 and possibly compatible with the 39x0, although I suppose that you should also be able to put the 49x0k in a x79, I mean I bet that X89 boards come out, that's what Intel always does.

Ah, ok, that is very possible if, besides, the X79 platform is very "stopped". Nothing new has come out since its launch, and that is strange. It would not surprise me at all if that X89 came out. Although I don't see the point if the 4XXX can be plugged into X79, and until haswell there will be no socket change.
Best regards..

If they release a new chipset, I will change, let's see if it's true and doesn't take too long to see how they perform, what I do know is that I like Asus less and less.

There are rumors that Haswell-E will continue with the 2011 socket plus DDR4, but it is said that an X99 will be needed.
Intel's eight-core chip will have hidden secretIt's rare for Intel to put two generations on the same socket, at least since the 775, I also want to change, although lately every time Intel releases something it doesn't quite convince me, let's see if the Ivy-E turns out better because otherwise I'll have to wait until Haswell-E.

I still use my 950, waxing it XD, it's running smoothly and I'm so happy with it, I'll probably switch to an x99 after seeing the disappointment and problems with the x79. Regards.

I'm still using a 920 and an R3E, but it seems to be confirmed that a new chipset will be released for IB-E, it will be the X89, they say it will be out in September and that to make it work on an X79, you'll need to flash the bios.
But it's likely that the X89 will already have native USB 3, they'll have fixed the PCIE3 issue (although with Intel, nothing is certain), but we should be seeing X89 motherboards soon, in a few weeks, images will probably start leaking.
That said, the best move would be to wait until the X99 and Haswel-E, plus 8 cores, although Intel might only release an 8 core processor in Extreme edition.
