INFO: Firefox does not display favicon

Since Firefox version 14, the Mozilla foundation has changed the 'Site Identity Button' to protect users from crackers trying to do spoofing by copying the look of the original site. The web icon will still appear on tabs and in favorites if it did previously, but not to the left of the address bar or as a favicon in the tab.
To restore it, just install the following extension:

I had no idea about that change. I installed the extension but the favicon still doesn't show up :cry:

I have Firefox ESR 17.0.8 so don't take much notice of what I say because version 24 came out yesterday and a lot of things may have changed since version 17.

Although it is curious because in all my other favorites it does appear now when before it didn't :confused:

the truth is that I installed it because while searching for information I came across it, but I have not been able to restart yet, I have too many tabs open.
And the favicon exists because for example in Chrome it is displayed (www.hardlimit.com/favicon.ico)

Pako the problem is that you have it misplaced, the code points to hardlimit.com/images/favicon.ico and it really is at hardlimit.com/favicon.ico

PD. To all this the address with www. enters me with login, if I enter without the www. it does not achieve the login; something that did not happen before.

It used to work like this automatically but it doesn't anymore, now it goes with code.

Well I don't know why it was coming up for you, but now it works in all browsers (safari, chrome, firefox), although as you say in both firefox and chrome it appears in the tab and not in the address bar.

It may be that because the code is pointing in the wrong direction it doesn't pick it up from the root directory, anyway now it's rare that it's left in the root, also for a reason many no longer put it in ico but in png.

Well I don't know what Firefox you use because it works perfectly for me on mobile, linux and OSX with the 24 which is the latest one available…

I think it stopped working for me yesterday, and I tried it on several computers with Firefox 23 and 24 on W7 x64.

A blank box appears where the icon should be, and other websites display it normally.

here at my house, my favicon is showing up. It's duplicated in both routes…
I'll see if I can find somewhere it's pointing to incorrectly to see what might be going on…

If now it doesn't stay at "hardlimit.com" and goes automatically to the "www.hardlimit.com". By the way the icons don't appear because they go to "foro.hardlimit.com/images/icons/icon5.gif" instead of to "www.hardlimit.com/images/icons/icon5.gif".

PD. I've tried on W7 just in case and it comes out perfect, try deleting the temporary ones.

where have you seen that route? there is no site where it already refers to any route like foro.hardlimit.com/… anyway, as it redirects to the www. it should work the same way

Po zi, in internet explorer on windows 7 the favicon appears… But not in mozilla :llorar:

No it already works fine, it must have been my problem that the icons were not showing up…
