6 or 8 molex cable, urgent help
-
Hello, well, I have bought the AMD 7990 HD from Shappire but I need 2x8pins. I have a 6 pin cable that has two others next to it and that serves me as an 8 pin, but I have another 6 pin and I need to plug it in if possible today… Is there any way to make a fix with normal cables? Or can I just plug the 6 pin directly?
It is very urgent because I have a server, and it makes me very happy, the adapter arrives in 3 days and bufff....
I hope it can be done with the 6 pin, I leave it to the experts. -
My suggestion: be patient and wait for the 3 days, because depending on what you do, you can ruin the graph.

That is an option, but I read somewhere that the adapter only adds two grounds and takes them from two of the grounds of the 6-pin molex. If you know which cable to take and where to connect it, I would appreciate it a lot

Listen to the experts and don't experiment, it's too many euros to go up in smoke... Then don't say we didn't warn you :nono:
You can go to any computer store tomorrow and ask if they have the cable you need.
Best regards

Well, I'll wait, thanks for the advice.
The problem is precisely that: I have gone to about 15 stores, of computer and electronics, and in none.
P.D: I live in Mallorca. Does anyone know any store?Sent from my GT-I9300

If everything is very nice, do you know what capacitors do if you change their polarity?:troll:

Ams yes, they get hot and then they get punctured and toxic smoke comes out and it smells plifffff and that's it, but what does that have to do with it?

Well, that's it, a small bad contact or an error in the power supply of your new graphics card and goodbye.
