Well, you see, in another post I had a problem with the bios of a laptop.
the thing is that I would like to know if, even with the graphics card broken since I can't see the screen or choose any screen option, if I bought this usb and connected it to another monitor I could see what's happening on my pc. Since currently the laptop turns on and off and I don't know what's going on, for now I'm trying to fix it but I would like to know your opinion and if anyone has tried it.
The curious thing is that the laptop I have has another vga port (blue color) but it doesn't send a signal to the other desktop monitor, and then I have this dilemma.
      Regards.

If the GPU is damaged, you have no chip to process the image and therefore cannot export it outside the computer, by any means. It would be different if the screen were broken.
By the way, if you say that the BIOS is damaged... where does the graphics problem come from? It may be in perfect condition, but with the BIOS damaged, no component will recognize it and therefore nothing will work.

        Greetings

Yes, you're right, I expressed myself poorly. I don't think the graphics are damaged, at least not since the update failed. It's just that I don't see anything at all, the screen is completely black, with no access to the bios or anything, so the question is a bit absurd.

The thing is, I followed a manual to reset the bios on my laptop, but it requires a combination of keys and when I ran out of options, or at least that's what I thought, I thought that if I could at least see something on the screen with some option (f1, or press this or that) I could choose and it occurred to me that maybe the graphics were damaged, but of course it's not that it's damaged, it's that the bios is corrupt and I thought about putting on the external usb-vga just in case.

But now that I think about it, these us-vgAs will have their own drivers, I don't know if they will install automatically on the hard drive or simply not install because of the corrupt bios.

The question is, if during the failed bios update, by chance it only affected the graphics, could I buy this usb-vga and get into the bios to reconfigure the factory values.

But I don't think that's the case, because the laptop turns off and on by itself, after several restarts. Now I'm waiting to put into practice the recovery tutorial using a usb-floppy disk, but I don't know if it will work because the bios will have to recognize the usb and then the data on the floppy disk.

          Regards.

Usb-vgAs always require drivers and operating system, so forget about that option.
