Hello friends, I am writing to you after spending several days reading and doing all kinds of tests. My problem is that I bought a micro + motherboard + memory + power supply and when I connect it, it starts up because the fans move but no image is displayed on the screen.

      I will share the specifications:

      Micro: A10 7850 K
      Motherboard: GIGABYTE F2A88X-D3H
      Memory: G SKILL RIPJAWSX 4+4 GB DDR3- 2133 CL9 - 11 - 11 -31 1.60 -1.65v
Power Supply: TooQ ECO POWER II 480 w ATX 12V 1.3

In theory, according to what I read on the internet, both the motherboard, micro, and memory are compatible. And in theory, the power supply is also compatible, although it is 480 w and I don't know if it might need a more powerful power supply like 650 or 700 w to run this APU...

To rule out problems, I assembled it outside the box on a non-metallic surface. Only motherboard, micro (correctly placed in the triangle position and properly fixed since I have tried several times), memory (I have tried putting them in different banks and first leaving only one, then the other, and both) and tower speaker (the orientation is set correctly, the 24-pin connector to the motherboard and the 8-pin 12V connector also to the motherboard and the CPU fan, correctly placed polarities)

With a screwdriver, I bridged the power pins and the fans started up (without making any noise). But nothing is seen on the screen (it remains in power-saving mode and I have tried it on two different screens that I know work both hdmi and vga and dvi).

If I remove the micro and memory, I don't hear anything (no beep) but the power supply fan turns on.

IF I place the micro without memory, I hear a continuous beep.

IF I place the micro and memory, the power supply and micro dissipater fans start up but nothing is seen on the screen.

P.D: I have tried with two new power supplies and the result is the same. I have also tried removing the battery and bridging the CMOS for 5 minutes.

I am thinking if this APU needs a 650 w or 700 w power supply since it needs a lot of energy to run the micro and integrated graphics and that's why nothing is seen???

I don't know what else to try, everything is new and I need to know if I should return it or not...

Thank you very much and greetings to everyone!

investigando más parece ser que la fuente no será el problema, ya que estos APUs sin poner un dedicada no demandan mucha energía…

pero me preocupan las memorias, ya que son de 1,6-1,65 v y en las especificaciones de la placa base figura:

4 x sockets 1.5V DDR3 DIMM that support up to 64 GB of system memory

        puede ser este el problema?

It seems that the problem is that you need to update to the latest version of the motherboard's bios for it to support the Kaveri APUs, which is currently the F4.

for anyone who needs it * NOTE: make sure it's exactly your model:

          Here's the download website: GIGABYTE - Motherboard - Socket FM2+ - GA-F2A88X-D3H (rev. 3.0)

The good thing is that it seems we've found the problem, the bad thing is how am I going to be able to update the bios with a broken processor that isn't supported yet??

I've downloaded the bios update manuals, both Q-flash and @BIOS and the update files. What's the difference between UEFI manuals and non-UEFI ones?

          I'll leave them here:

          404 - §ä¤£¨ìÀɮשΥؿý¡C

          404 - §ä¤£¨ìÀɮשΥؿý¡C

          404 - §ä¤£¨ìÀɮשΥؿý¡C

          404 - §ä¤£¨ìÀɮשΥؿý¡C

I'm afraid the bios update will have to be done with a supported processor, right?? Any other way??

Hello, the first thing would be to talk to the store that sold you the parts if you bought them all from the same store and if they informed you about this incompatibility.

If it is a physical store, it is easier to talk to them and for them to do the BIOS update in their workshop (which will have access to a compatible processor). If it is an online store, contact support and see what options they give you.

If all the parts were bought together, you can always claim that they do not work correctly and process a warranty, so that they either return your money or demonstrate that these parts work and solve the problem after the BIOS update.

If not, you always have the option to look for someone you know/friend who has a compatible processor that allows you to update the BIOS. Or check the cost of having this update done at a store that is not the one you bought the parts from.
