Help OC GA-X79-UD5 and i7 3820 motherboard
-
I would like to overclock my computer but I can't go beyond 4.3GHZ which is the maximum multiplier allowed by this CPU. When I try to increase the bus, the computer does not start and I have to reset the Bios.
The computer has the following components:
Motherboard: GA-X79-UD5
CPU: i7 3820
RAM: 2*4GB kingston hyperx 1600MHZ A 1.65V
Graphics: Gigabyte GTX770 4 GB DDR5 OC VERSION -
I'm really disconnected and I don't know much about this platform, but the best thing is that you look at a guide like this.
If you haven't touched the voltages or disabled certain things in the Bios, it's very possible that this is the problem.
Greetings and welcome to the forum

Thanks for the advice, I'll read the tutorial when I can and I'll tell you how it goes.
Thanks again

Looking at the guide and following the values, I managed to overclock to 4.3 by bus instead of by multi, but when I tried to reach 4.5, the computer wouldn't start and gave an error. I set the voltages to the maximum recommended, but even so, I haven't achieved anything. If anyone can help me, I would greatly appreciate it.

If I were you, I would stay at the point where the voltage demand does not skyrocket; 4.5 is quite enough for that micro.

Well, I'm going to stick with the 4.3 for multi and out
Thanks for your help

In the end, after testing, I reached 4.5 but I will only put it on occasionally jeje for normal use and to play I will leave it at 4.3 which I think is enough jeje.
Pd: at 4.5 and with a little oc to the graphics I got 11,750 in the 3d mark11 is a good score for my team?
