Problem with ATI 4890
-
I'm so annoyed, I took apart the heatsink to change the paste and clean the dust from the heatsink because I saw that it was giving a little high temperatures, I put a new one and now the computer doesn't give me an image, I should say that I also did the same with the processor. I bought the computer by parts and I assembled it myself, I mean I have experience, it's all connected, I also changed the pci slots on the card, the computer turns on and all the fans move but it doesn't give an image, I suppose it's a problem with the graphics or the power supply but it's that it worked perfectly before I don't understand, by the way it doesn't give any beep

what a pain in the ass I have, I disassembled the heatsink to change the paste and clean the dust from the heatsink since I saw that it was giving a bit high temperatures, I put a new one and now the computer does not give me an image, I say that I also did the same with the processor. I bought the computer in pieces and I assembled it myself, I mean I have experience, everything is connected, I also changed the pci slots to the card, the computer turns on and all the fans move but it does not give an image, I suppose it is a problem of graphics or power supply but it is that before it worked perfectly I do not understand, by the way it does not give any beep
clean the pci express connection of the graphics with an eraser, press all the copper contacts on both sides. I have had this happen with many PCs, a bad contact in any copper pin and it can give you a big headache.

If the graphics card fails or the source usually does not give error tones. Clean the contacts, if you have integrated graphics, remove the discrete one and try with it.
Good luck.

well I don't know what could have happened, I just tried another graphics card and everything works perfectly, so the problem is clearly the graphics card but I don't understand what could have happened, any advice???

I've seen a Gigabyte GTX 750 OC 2GB-GDDR5 for around 115€.
