I have already tried it, but when my brother formatted it, he deleted everything, even the HP software
In device manager, I look at the drivers and on the keyboard I have two, I have tried to delete them but when I do, they reinstall themselves and the laptop turns off, I already consider it impossible, as I said, I will try with vista. Thanks

Come on, don't throw in the towel so quickly. Try if with an external keyboard and mouse it works correctly, or at least enough to keep tinkering.

Doing a bit of research (Google "compaq presario c700 w7 driver"), on the page they recommend using MS Update to update drivers on versions other than Vista.

Or if you don't want to get too dizzy, maybe this page will be of some use to you.

          Good luck. ?

Thanks Whoololon, I have already downloaded the drivers from this page, but when I update them the installation program tells me that the drivers are older than the ones installed, what should I do, and another question if it's not a bother.
In device manager I have two drivers for the keyboard.
One from Microsoft and another from HP, I have tried uninstalling one and then the other but they reinstall themselves.
Is it normal to have two drivers for the keyboard. Thanks.

hello again, I still have the problem with the keyboard and mouse drivers, I have updated the drivers from the page you told me but the problem persists. when I look in device management I find that the keyboard has two drivers one from HP and another from Microsoft.
what I did was the following, I took the keyboard out of the laptop and turned it on without the keyboard, and everything works perfectly I mean the mouse and the on-screen keyboard.
I tried to delete the Windows driver and uninstall it, but when I start it installs automatically, I have looked for which drivers they are and tried to delete them so that they do not reinstall, but it does not let me, access denied.
please how can I delete these damn drivers and leave only the HP ones. Thank you

Before I continue fighting with the drivers, I would check with a LiveCD of Ubuntu for example, that the keyboard is working properly, because it wouldn't be the first time it does strange things and produces incredible poltergeist.

                Regards!

Thanks Fassou followed your advice and downloaded Ubuntu and the dvd player also does not work well for me, I have seen on google that it can be installed from windows with daemon tools, but the Ubuntu in my case does not give me that option, it only tells me to restart with the cd, how is that possible? Thanks

If you enter Windows and insert a CD/DVD with Ubuntu, the executable understands that you want to install Ubuntu and will tell you to restart taking advantage of the fact that they are bootable (as could not be otherwise).

But what I suggested to you is to take advantage of the possibility of trying the system without installing it, booting directly from the CD/DVD (what we call LiveCD).

                    Salu2!

PD: What you found about using Daemon Tools, I understand that it is for making installations on virtual machines, which is not the case.

Thanks Fassou, I did what you said, in Windows I uninstalled the keyboard drivers and turned it off, then from Ubuntu I went to Windows and sent the drivers to the recycle bin, but even so, when I put Windows back on, they are installed again, how is that possible if I deleted them, thanks.

To rule out a hardware issue, was it working well while you were using Linux?
Specify the model of that C700 to narrow down the search for drivers.
By the way, instead of uninstalling the driver, have you tried if it at least lets you disable it?

Hello again, well in the end I installed Ubuntu on another partition of the disk so as not to bother with the dvd, and in Ubuntu everything works well for me, I turn it off I go to windows and a mess, I go to system and drivers and I uninstall the drivers I don't have the option to disable them, I delete both the keyboard and the Alps pointing device. Only the USB mouse works for me, and I turn it off.
I turn it on with Ubuntu, and I delete the drivers for the keyboard, and I go back to windows, and the drivers are back, this happened to me 4 times in a row.
Today I repeat the same thing and I don't know why in windows the keyboard and mouse weren't working, I go to system drivers and today it says that there are no drivers and it gives me the option to disable them, AND the keyboard on the windows screen works well,??.
I turn it on again and everything is installed once more, the keyboard works as it pleases, and this time I don't have the laptop mouse.
Please how can I delete them I wanted to install ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp45001-45500/sp45058.exe I download them from this page Compaq Presario C700 Windows 7 Drivers but I can't install them because they are an earlier version and I have to uninstall the ones I have.
The laptop is a Compaq Presario C700 Notebook Pc and the CPU type is Mobile Intel Celeron 540.
Well this time the USB mouse doesn't work well for me either.
Please how can I do this. Thank you.

Well, for lack of a better idea, and assuming that this W7 is original (or at least a reliable version), I would reformat its partition, no quick formatting or reinstalling. Once done, reinstall W7.

And returning to the Vista issue, if your brother hasn't been very thorough and meticulous when formatting, you might still have the (hidden) recovery partition that contains the OS and the original software package. When you get to the POST screen, press F11 (Recovery Manager).

Edit: I put the C700 model because some version would mount the C2Duo at 1.6, and it could also have other variations at the hardware level. The model usually comes on the back.

Edit: Try with a driver finder, Driver Easy worked well for me and is one of those "use and throw away" programs.
