Hello fellow users!!
I want to change the chair I use for my PC. I spend many hours in front of it [university + programming] and after a while my back always starts to hurt, bad posture, etc…
I bought this one from pccomponentes: Racing Sports Black/Red Chair RACING-CHAIR-BLACK-RED
It turned out to be a piece of junk, after 4 days it was swaying from side to side and I decided to return it.
The thing is, is it worth it, I don't mind spending 200€ for something I'm going to use every day and that will be for my health, right now I'm hesitating between these 2, but I accept suggestions:
Ikea Markus 160€
MARKUS Swivel chair - Sonnebo blue - IKEAAkracing 7018 220€
AKRACING AK-7018 Gaming Chair Black/Orange AK-7018-BOThe look doesn't matter much to me, I mean, I like the second one more obviously, but if the first one is better or not worth the price difference, then I'll go for the Ikea one.
What do you think?
Thanks! -
Hello Rules!
I don't know the quality that one from Ikea will have, but the one I have is a model from before that one from the same Ikea. It's the classic one in black faux leather and I've already had two, all give me the same problem: the central arm that raises and lowers them gets damaged, both because they end up lowering by themselves when you sit down and because the aforementioned ends up sliding between the legs and makes the wheels stop touching the ground evenly (a disaster, yes... ).
I see that one as more robust and with a metal foot, but even so, if I could afford it, I would go directly for the second one, because it looks like it's not going to get ruined even if it falls from a third floor. Taste also plays a big role. I think it has more than enough quality, it looks like it's made with good materials.

I know I'm very strange, but if I need something that I'm going to spend many hours with, I try to be able to try it out before I buy :troll:
Since you've already had several different models, I assume you already know more or less what kind of chair you like, or what is more comfortable for you, but I would recommend that you look in specialized stores for office furniture, where quality usually takes precedence over aesthetics and you'll save yourself from ending up on the floor, because of a bad chair.
If you have in your city, you can take advantage of the fact that they usually have an exhibition and try them out once you have preselected the models that you might like, and if not, you can always end up buying online, and do searches about complaints about specific models.
Salu2!
PD: I'm writing to you sitting in a chair, bought at ARCO more than 15 years ago and it's still almost like the first day (I ended up reupholstering it because it was ugly ;D)

I have had this one at home for about 5 years TecTake 400585 - Office desk chair, leather, black: Amazon.es: Home
I am very happy, it is very comfortable and I have spent many hours in it, I paid €140 then.

I have the ikea chair and it's very good. It's comfortable and has backrest tilt in several positions. The cover of mine is "leather" and it's black. From experience and I declare that for summer, better fabric and mesh backrest so you don't get hot or stick

I wouldn't order the akracing without trying that or a similar one... for the car during a race it's a good design. To spend hours... I don't see it
Backrest or support always up to the head and if it's adjustable in several points better
PD: the markus "lying down" all the way and feet on the bed and what naps I've taken...
-
Thanks for the comments!!
I'm actually thinking about ordering the akracing, as I have 15 days to return it if I don't like it... I'll put some protective fabric on it and give it a good night of work to see how it is... nuse nuse!

I've never seen a bucket in an office chair as comfortable, I've always seen that in tuning workshops in their time, I would go for something really ergonomic and also comfortable to sit on, someone who has suffered a lot from stupid postures and expensive treatments for back pain is telling you this.
-
I for one prefer a normal car seat with office chair wheels attached, I think that is more comfortable than a racing seat

Best regards

I have the Markus, it's comfortable and has good back support for hot days that holds the whole back and in a very straight posture ideal for typing, it's not luxurious but it's a good chair. My problem is that the spring that tilts the backrest is quite hard. The other one seems too tacky to me, no matter how comfortable it is

-
I have the Markus leather chair, in black and I think it's a cool chair, but... I have to admit that for the price it has, I would rather shop around for furniture, because for similar prices I have seen better chairs.
In my case, when I bought the house a little over 4 years ago, I bought several pieces of furniture at Ikea and as I don't like to go shopping... I tried the chair and bought it at the same Ikea. In my case, I weigh over 100 kilos and it holds up very well. That said, as they mention, in summer it is a bit more uncomfortable.
Anyway, if you want quality in office chairs, you have to pay for it. At work we have some chairs, I can't remember the brand, that cost more than €1,000... yes, a lot of money, but it's the best chair I have ever sat on, you can work all day and have zero problems. After all, I didn't pay for it;)

My issue is that the spring that tilts the backrest is quite hard.
Hard even when adjusted to the minimum??? Because I hope you know that it can be adjusted… :troll:
PD: I just tried it at the minimum and it is very loose, good for exercising abs because 90% of the force when you sit up is done by you and not the spring
-
Well, I think that depends on the weight and height of the individual. In my case, it seems that it's not very clear whether or not I fit the size or not, haha. By the way, what I said about the backrest is that it is very ventilated, which is good so that you don't sweat your shirt.

As for the heat, I have a rough towel on mine all year round, it's fantastic and very stylish, and it also preserves the chair material, so it lasts longer

By the way, this chair is not the one from Ikea that I originally mentioned, it's one that was left at a bank branch under my flat three years ago, I saw it there, orphaned, and I needed hands to carry it up :ugly: :ugly: :ugly: :ugly:
It's super comfortable, indestructible, soft blue velvet... Magnificent, except for the wear on the armrests, but hey, it's free!! :risitas:

Well, in the end yesterday I ordered a DXRacer at 4frags, I read very good reviews on forums.
It arrived in less than 24 hours, I ordered it early in the afternoon, and by morning I already had it here.
VERY comfortable so far, I haven't had the pleasure of spending long hours in it yet since I assembled it at noon and then I went to the gym and to work, I'll leave you a link and a photo so you can see it!
http://www.4frags.com/silla-dxracer-f-series-ohf08-no.html

As expected, everything is aluminum, it reclines up to 180 degrees, it seems like you're going to fall and everything, but not!
It comes disassembled in a box, but in 15 minutes I had it all assembled.
Curious about the smell as soon as you open the box, like a new car jajaja.
In my case, normal build (1.75 - 70kg), it fits me very well, but it could be that a person with more volume would be a bit overwhelmed in it, in that case it's better to get the top model, D series, which are wider, but as I said, in my case it fits me perfectly.
In a few days I'll tell you more in detail -
Are the legs and supports also made of aluminum?

Are the legs and supports also made of aluminum?
Yes, everything, except for the end caps of the armrest ;D

Hello comrades, the truth is that if I didn't have enough with the bike, now after they deleted my website without warning, I've been going almost a week without stopping. My wife told me it's something similar to what appears on the skin of the buttocks of the elderly. Of course I'm on a chair as hard as cement. But I'm not going to pay 300 euros for a chair, no matter how much gamer it says on the label. And here I found one my size for 100, the one with the lights cost, well, almost 300, but there were no more in stock. I think the whole thing with the chairs is a joke. But I have to buy something that doesn't make my buttocks turn to dust.
