Portable problem ahtec and intel 5100 wifi

Me comprao el nuevo modelo de ahtec de 15", CM860TU, que trae la tarjeta wifi intel 5100.
Le he instalado XP SP3, el problema es que no puedo activar la tarjeta wifi con el atajo "FN + F11", le doy pero no hace nada, la tarjeta me la reconoce bien y los drivers he probado con los que traia el CD y tambien con los ultimos de la pagina web de intel.
intento buscar una red, con el asistente de intel o el de windows y siempre me dice lo mismo, que active la tarjeta wifi….
todos los demas atajos FN + F9,F10,F12 etc...funcionan bien. lo unico ke no va es la wifi.
Alguna idea de que puede ser ?
