LiveBox 2.1 as an access point

Currently, the WiFi coverage of the wonderful Sagemcom F@ST router only reaches half of my house. A couple of years ago, I was able to configure an old LiveBox 2.1 router (the one with the beveled corner) to use it as an access point, in order to have more coverage by adding another network from a more distant room.

I more or less remember the process: you went into the settings, disabled DHCP and entered the IP of the main router as the gateway... I think.

The thing is that right now I find that I can't access the router via LAN. I don't connect it to WAN but to any other port, that's as far as I get, but when I try to access it, it's as if it doesn't exist.

I've tried two cables and when I connect the one from the main router to another port, I have a connection and the speed tests pass without any problems.

I've tried with the address I gave it and nothing, then I've reset it and even with the default address (192.168.1.1) it's the same.

I'm sure I'm forgetting the typical silly detail, but I've already given up, let's see if someone can clear things up for me.

LiveBoxes are pain in the ass by themselves, I have one and I couldn't get it to work as a "slave" of the main one. It always wanted to be the boss of the local network, even if I changed the subnet.

In your case, if there is no access by connecting it individually to a PC (without anything else, just router and network cable to the PC), it's possible that something has gone wrong internally and it won't allow access to it.

I would try it on several computers, if it's alive and reset, it should allow access to it by connecting it only to a PC.

As @Sylver says, I would try with another computer, but also (I imagine you have done it) disconnect the cable to it (that is, connect only the router to a PC to configure) this happened to me several times at the job where I was before because the wifi did not reach us well and it was the small way to solve it. (if everything is disconnected, it will not let you enter the menu).

Exactly what @hAyO says, just the LiveBox and a PC, connected to each other by a single RJ45 cable.
