It has taken me some time but I think it's ready. You can now comment on the front page following the mechanics suggested by @kynes
Every time someone comments on something, a new thread is created in the forum with the news and comments are added as a response. The idea is that the thread is created in the corresponding subforum, although as it is a new field, old news will be created in the HL News subforum and I will move them to their place.
I suppose the aesthetics still need a good polish, but it will do for now.
For now, you can only comment anonymously from the front page, although in the near future it will be possible to do so with the forum user. Of course, from now on you can also comment on the news from the forum with your user, although for this someone must have sent a comment previously from the front page so that the thread is created.
The next stops are:
· Allowing forum users to submit short news.
· RSS. -
So this will already look like reddit, with what we will gain in knowledge on the page and we all know that the pages that now have more traffic are the ones that have more news on the front page.
-
Hello Cobito:
When I try to send a comment, even if I answer the question correctly, it tells me that it is incorrect.
-
@garfield How strange. What browser do you use? Do you enter the answer in numeric format and without spaces?
-
It happens to me the same way, in Linux Mint with Firefox and with uBlock deactivated.
-
Okay, I've found it. You should be able to comment without any problems now.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
-
You can now comment on news from the front page with our forum user. With this done, it should be relatively easy to implement the possibility for forum users to send short news, which will be the next thing to arrive.
-
Just two months after the last version, I return to the topic. From now on, anyone who is registered in the forum can submit a news item to the front page.
If you want to submit something, once you are on the front page, log in and the "Submit" button will appear in the header.
The news is not moderated and at the moment it cannot be edited. What you send will go directly.
-
With great power, comes great responsibility

I'm afraid. Some smart jerk will use it to put spam.
-
@kynes Let's hope it's not necessary. Anyway, the spam will be removed (not moderating for submission doesn't mean it can't be moderated afterwards). And if this is not enough, restrictions will be imposed: first by requiring a minimum number of posts in the forum to be able to submit and then only allowing a certain group of forum users to submit.

Today comes the latest news until after the bridge. The RSS is now available: https://hardlimit.com/rss.php
-
Version 1.0.0 of the front page is now available. You can check the changes in the first post of this thread.
Search is still missing, news submission needs to be reimplemented, images related to tags need to be added, a list of the latest posts from the Hardlimit blogs and shortcuts to social networks/RSS need to be added.
-
Great!! Very good idea to summarize the latest threads and entries to BM.
-
@krampak Thanks. I hope that centralizing all the information on the front page doesn't decrease visits to the forum. On this topic, I should mention that threads in private forums are not shown on the front page even if you are logged in.
Everything I had planned is already ready. You can now search for news, send news, and shortcuts to social networks and RSS feeds have been added to the front page.
-
Since yesterday, the front page news is also published on Hardlimit's Twitter account.
-
@cobito Perfect, another way to move the territory.

I'll do my part to make it look more

A problem that prevented logging in on the front page since the forum was updated has been fixed.
There is still a minor issue that prevents commenting on the first news item in the list. Otherwise, there should not be any major problems.

Okay, I thought I was dumber than I really am
