Happy holidays and review of 2019
-
In a few days, the penultimate year of the decade will end. This year we have changed the old and abandoned cover for a new one that receives short news periodically. We have also seen the number of Hardlimit blogs double to a total of no less than two with the launch of my new slow but continuous cooking blog.
An important update was also made to the server hardware thanks to which, a total of zero unplanned service outages have occurred (let's forget for a moment the little problem that happened a few weeks ago with the DNS). With the update, everything has gone faster and the forum has received new features.
Although it has not been a year with special activity in the forum, traffic remains considerable. The test bank has increased the number of visits from Google and the domain Hardlimit.com has improved its positioning according to Alexa substantially.

What does 2020 hold for us? Well, something that is still planned is to dust off the test bank code and undertake some reforms. For my part, I will continue with the retrocomputing that I deal with in my blog because it is something that I am enjoying and where I have material to exploit. I am thinking of making a Hardlimit museum (maybe at museo.hardlimit.com) where I leave documented the disassemblies of the antiques where there are images, brief texts, old magazines where the gadget in question is talked about, specific drivers/software for each PC and maybe some abandonware; nothing of long tomes (for that there is the blog) but rather structured and concise fiches. That's what I feel like doing now and I think Hardlimit is a good place to launch it.
Apart from that, 2020 will not be a year with big surprises. Everything will continue more or less what 2019 has been. In short, I have stopped making efforts to relaunch the forum by doing things that I don't enjoy too much like writing the long articles of the old cover or launching initiatives that consume an amount of effort and time that doesn't make sense (like the disappeared price comparator). For my part, I will do things that I like and if that encourages others to do the same well and if not, bad luck.
To finish, I wanted to thank everyone who occasionally participates and those who you can see the hair in the list of connected users, because although you don't participate, your mere presence encourages us to continue.
Happy holidays and see you in the forums!

I am very happy to read that the forum has grown, even if only in positioning and visits, it will not be the most important site in the world, but it is our site

@cobito The topic you propose of retrocomputing I love it, and it is certainly quite up now in a certain sector of the internet. We will be here always attentive and contributing as much as possible.
As always, thank you so much for the effort and time you dedicate to keep all this alive, even if it is for the four passionate ones who always enter, there is no price for everything you do.
A big hug to everyone, and happy holidays!

Happy holidays to the whole community!
I am glad to see that the forum and everything that has grown around it continues to thrive in such complicated times as these, in which the immediacy of social networks has already taken a clear advantage.
Like Sylver, I am eager to see everything related to old tinkering, and I don't want to get my fingers caught, but I come up with ways to collaborate in some way.
I will be attentive to the news
