Good evening, I hope you are well. I upgraded my computer about 1 or 2 years ago. I assembled everything at PC Componentes, but since I wanted to assemble everything myself, they didn't sell me the graphics card. To this day, I'm still running everything with the tired 750Ti, but it's time to change it.
Graphics cards have come down a bit (a little), and I think it's time to take the plunge. I would like to stay with nVidia, but I see the 6800XT Red Dragon in good light, with a lot of VRAM and it runs loose and in some benches in 4K in games it goes very well. I dedicate myself mostly to watching movies and sporadic games when something comes out for free on Epic ?
My monitor is a Philips 4K LCD TV that really works very well and has a 120hz refresh rate, although I never checked it.
Do you think this graphics card is good? is it worth waiting for the new 7000 series? for the same price I have also seen the 4070 which consumes much less.
Thank you very much for reading and giving your opinion!

@clipper is there much difference with the Red Dragon in performance? should I go for AMD at this time?

            Nvidia or AMD...
More or less in the same range you have more VRAM in AMD.
            Does it matter?
Depending on what you play, they say that the more VRAM the better (big donkey whether it moves or not)
From my ignorance and or opinion, Nvidia has always given options or directly "lubricated" the game developers and that's why games ran better with Nvidia than with ATI / AMD.
To give an example: gollum, they say it's very poorly optimized (according to them not...) And we need an Nvidia yes or yes. For ray tracing.
Personally I liked Nvidia, and I had high-end.
But I got tired of throwing money away and I went to AMD and I'm so happy.
As the market is, an AMD series 6800 you can get for 600€ with 16 gs of RAM
            I've seen a series 7000 on offer for 700€
Both series offer more VRAM than Nvidia.
And the latest Nvidia series has been having a lot of problems with the connectors.
As you say you play little, I wouldn't complicate my life and I would go for AMD.
            Regards

Thanks @clipper! I checked a couple of comments, checked with PC Components that it would fit in my tower, since the board is huge and I bought it. We'll see how it goes! thanks again for the info! with this, I have a graphics card for years!

@clipper I have my signature, a Phanteks Evolv and the stock fans it comes with. I will measure temperatures and I have also bought a stand because I saw that it is very big and heavy.

@desvest some models come with the bracket included, but mine, which is the shaffire Rx 6800 xt, didn't come with it, so I bought one on Amazon.
But in my case, with a corsair series 5000 tower, a clipper lighter does the same job or better, so I put it in the corner, it will be outside and it will hold all the weight there, the brackets usually don't reach that corner.
                      Regards

As soon as I get @clipper I will upload some photos and comments. This MERC didn't come with support, they confirmed it to me from PC Componentes. I bought one from Amazon for 10€ so I'll see how to place it well so that it fulfills its function. This board is really big... jajaja
Many thanks for the offer again.
