NVIDIA will save the RTX 3060 (The return of the queen?)
-
We all know that we have a drama with the RAM
. Due to the current cost crisis, NVIDIA has decided to bring out its most legendary graphics card: the RTX 3060.

I will summarize the key points of the move, but if you want you can read the original source from N3D:-
The reason: The increase in the cost of memory is suffocating the new generation. To fill the gap in stores, NVIDIA will return to manufacture the 3060 with normalized stock and reasonable prices (or so we hope).

8GB vs 12GB: It is not clear which one will return. The 12 GB (192-bit bus) is the desired one, while the 8 GB (128-bit bus) yields almost 17% less. Ironically, if there is a shortage of RAM, there are chances that they will try to sell us the 8 GB.
-
Why now?: It is still the most popular graphics card in Steam surveys. NVIDIA knows that the performance of its 3,584 shaders and RT cores still have a lot of war to give in 1080p.

Personally, it seems incredible that in the middle of 2026 we are returning to an architecture from years ago, but as the market is, it may be the only sensible option for many pockets. Anyway, I think it was always a great graphics card and brought DLSS and RT to many users, although personally the sweet spot would be the 3060 Ti.

@_Neptunno_ I don't know how much of this is just a rumor and how much is news... And I am a defender of stretching hardware to the maximum as long as it has optimal performance, but from there to selling you "outdated" hardware as new... I don't know...

You're right, @pos_yo selling hardware from years ago as new sounds a bit like a joke, but given how the current landscape is, you can expect anything from NVIDIA!!
I suppose that as long as they maintain driver support and the official warranty, these 3060s will occupy that segment of users who can't (or don't want to) reach the prices of a 40 or 50 series. In the end, it's almost better that these 3060s come out "like churros", at least they have decent performance, rather than us being sold the capped 3050s or the eternal GTX 1650s that can't do anything more.
Regards!!
