Underperforming Alienware M15X
-
Hello everyone
I'll explain my problem
The laptop has these components, i7-920XM processor, 260m graphics and 4 gb of ram
I recently installed Windows 7 with the latest drivers and no game runs well, neither DirectX 9 nor 10
For WoW, for example, which in theory should run at full speed with everything, the frames drop which is bad, it only runs somewhat decent with everything at minimum, I tried Skyrim but it doesn't run well either, I put the resolution and effects that I put, it happens with Windows 7 normal and 64-bit and with different versions of the drivers from the Nvidia page, I tried to install Windows XP but it gives me a blue screen and I don't have more versions of XP to try
It has been to the Dell lab and it came back the same way it wentApart from the problem that may have hardware (if it does), I also wanted to ask you what affects the performance in this case of games, so that I don't do something wrong from the beginning
The steps I have followed are to install Windows from scratch, then drivers and finally games, I don't know if there is something to install in between, in some game Visual C or physics is installed and I don't know if this thing has some peculiarity that I don't know aboutThat's more or less the problem I have
Thanks in advance, goodbye -
I would start by installing and running the 3DMark 2011 to see what score you get and what scores similar systems to yours get.

hello again
in the end I couldn't pass the 3DMark2011 because the card isn't compatible with Directx 11 and gives an error, with the Vantage at first it gave me a terrible result, then I looked at the nvidia properties and saw that the physics was set to the CPU and not the graphics, I changed that and deactivated almost all the effects and it gives me a result of 5400 global, which in principle are more or less good, which is supposed to give, the wow was great and even the skyrim at 1080 goes well, without antialias or effects, but it was fluid, so far so good, the problem is that it rebooted and back to the same thing
the good thing is that it's not a hardware problem
the bad thing is that I don't have a clue how to put it back the same wayso I'm afraid it's going to be trial and error
thank you very much and see you later
