[Doubts] Ivy Bridge Vs 2011
-
Hello again!!!
After bothering you here and googling a lot I have come to the conclusion that this would be a good ivy bridge investment looking at quality/price (indicative prices)asrock z77 extreme 4… 130 €
3570k... 240 €
Corsair Vengeance XMP PC3-12800 DDR3 1600 8GB 2x4GB CL9 50 €
TOTAL 420 €so far we have a good pc...
the doubt comes when we make a socket 2011 configuration (made quickly without googling anything):facepalm:Asrock X79 Extreme4... 190 €
i7 3820... 280€
G.SKILL RIPJAWSX 1600Mhz 4x2Gb... 60 € (quad core)
TOTAL 520 €ivy bridge advantages:
pci e 3.0
possibility to overclock by unblockingDisadvantages
higher temperatures given that it has a smaller surface and more density.Advantages 2011
faster cpus
compatibility with future sandy-e and ivy-e(?)
Quad-core memories
they heat up lessDisadvantages
higher price
components of worse quality (basic cpu and motherboard the cheapest are from 190 €)Can you help me with a cable?
Thanks!!! -
I would go with Sandy, for efficiency and freshness, good OC, somewhat more economical, great performance overall.
By the way, I think you got a bit confused with the memories, maybe you meant quad-channel, not quad-core.Regards

And at the end of the year DDR4 will arrive, so perhaps LGA1155 will last as little as LGA1156 :( Salu2! -
It's that they're supposedly going to release LGA 1150 XD, what a socket mismatch.

Well, you see, Haswell is coming out in a few months. They have to compensate for the longevity of 775 :troll:
