igfx display driver problem (Intel HD 4000)
-
Hello,
I was wondering if you could help me with my laptop. I have a Dell Inspiron 17R-7720. Until recently, it had Windows 8 installed, but I got tired of the Metro interface and installed Windows 7. After installing all the drivers, I have a problem. When I run the stability test (Aida), I get an error with the Intel HD 4000 graphics driver. Specifically, the following message appears:
Error "The igfx display driver has stopped working and has been recovered correctly". I have checked that the driver is up to date with the one on the Dell website for this computer, 64-bit version.Do you know what might be causing this error and how to fix it?
Thanks and best regards

Try with the driver from the intel website.

I downloaded the driver from Intel's website, but when the installation starts, I get the following message:
"Error: The driver you are installing has not been validated on this computer. Please obtain the appropriate driver from the computer’s manufacturer. The installation program will close."
And the installation is aborted.

Well, in case you haven't mistaken the driver, it seems to be a problem with the OS or hardware.
Do the usual: update Windows, update BIOS, run a memtest…
