Well, it's something that when you're with the PC at home, with the "good" connection you don't take into account, but when you have to pull a forum with a 3G or very limited connection, you end up remembering what you shouldn't.
I understand that there are things that are too good to put in a low resolution image, with a size of around 640*480 maximum... but for the sake of the staff, let's use the "Spoiler" tool and put them there (the big images, I mean).

I've taken a quick look at the rules and it doesn't specify anything about the size of the images, but I think they shouldn't exceed 1024x768 or similar, and if you use larger images, do it through thumbnails or by publishing only the links.

I see too often, both in forums and in the work environment with email, how people take photos with their mobile and upload/send them as is, without considering the large resolutions that current mobiles use.

The issue is quite complex. The forum does not resize large images, it only shrinks them. That is to say, if you set the limit to 640x480, the original image will still be loaded, but it will be displayed shrunk to 640x480. The only way to remedy this would be to convert it to a smaller size and display it as a thumbnail, just like Imageshack did. But for that, it would be the user who would convert the image and put it as a thumbnail linking the original image.

Claro, yo lo que me refiero es que la gente enconja sus imagenes antes de subirlas. Yo por ejemplo uso TinyPic y da la opción de redimensionarlas, y si no como se ha hecho toda la vida, que hasta con Paint se puede.
