Install Programs Missing in Kubuntu 11.04

Hello friends

I would like to know how to configure through the terminal which commands to use to install all the missing packages in the system, for example: winrar, if I can download music, office, etc.

No sé si Ubuntu dispone de software propietario en sus repositorios (supongo que sí). Si es así podrás descargar winrar como una aplicación para linea de comandos, pero existen multitud de gestores de archivadores como FileRoller con interfaz gráfica que gestionan estas utilidades.

Para instalar aplicaciones, puedes usar Synaptics. No he usado mucho Ubuntu y no te puedo dar más detalles.

You go to the ubuntu icon, search for the software installation program, in it you search for rar and install the application that tells you it supports rar files.

The same for anything you want to install, like java, libre office, wine (to run windows apps) etc. If any does not appear in the ubuntu libraries or on the program's website, use Google, because for something the four hundred ubuntu communities exist.

Here is a command similar to the one I use when I finish installing my OS xD: $ sudo apt-get install skype wine deluge amule frostwire amsn flashplugin-nonfree unrar p7zip rar virtualbox-4.0 avidemux vlc audacity

• Skype is the classic Skype for making VoIP calls.
• Deluge is one of the best bittorrent clients for me.
• aMule is the Linux version of eMule
• Frostwire would be like Ares.
• amsn is like messenger; I liked emesene better but the current version is alpha...
• flashplugin-nonfree is the Adobe Flash plugin.
• unrar, p7zip, rar: these are for dealing with compressed files and such.
• virtualbox-4.0: It's for making virtual machines like VMWare.
• avidemux: For video editing in terms of cutting, converting formats, editing audio, etc.
• vlc: The all-purpose video player.
• Audacity: A sound recorder but much more complete.
• Wine: The quintessential Windows 'emulator' in Linux, with it you can use Microsoft Office if you don't quite like Libre Office.

Is Skype available in the Ubuntu repositories? It will be in Canonical in any case, now I have switched to Fedora and the theme changes a bit.
