And does its fan rotate properly? It's not normal... Has the temperature changed overnight or has it been gradual? It could be the heat sink paste or that it doesn't make good contact...

Check the cooler's mounting that has no "wiggle" I guess it's this cooler

Although I don't know how long the thermal paste you put on the PC will last, but if it's the one on the cooler, it would be good to change it for an Artic Silver 5 or something similar, and regarding the CPU cooler, before that thermaltake, Arctic Cooling CPU Freezer 13 UCACO-FZ130-BL Fan/Cooler

If that's the cooler that comes with Intel by default. I understand I'll look for the Artic you're telling me there hang some photos of the PC.

If that temperature has been normal for a long time, practically since I started monitoring it, it has been running like this for at least 55°

Man something is going on, because the first i7s were hot but not as much as the Pentium4 Prescotts to be honest.

These are normal temperatures for both the 920 and the 950 and more with a stock cooler, put a decent cooler on it and it will lower the temperature considerably, I also think that with that fan on the side blowing air in what you are doing is generating more heat on the socket area.

Ok I think that's good I'm going to change the heatsink and the paste for a good one.. and what that fan on the side does is to draw the heat from the CPU from the inside and throw it out.

Well, I have the TT Frio and it's amazing, I can't remember it ever going over 60-65°C with an OC of 4-4.4Ghz, although it's also true that in my house it's quite cool both in summer and winter :troll:

In short, the best thing you can do is change the heatsink, but for now ?

                            Best regards!!

P.D: Intel's stock coolers should be banned!! Especially since they made them smaller, because I remember that the 775 ones for the P4s weren't that bad, but from the C2D E8xxx series onwards the cooler was half the size and they got really hot.
I mean, I've built some i5 750 or similar with those fans and I was scared to look at the temperature (yes, I couldn't do anything because these are work computers and you can't say a word).

Well, mine without OC stays cool with the stock cooler, even when stressed, with the frequency (oddly enough stock) at 3.5Ghz it never goes above 40°C...
Of course, you have to take into account that I have the case in penguin mode... an NZXT with 12 in the front blowing air at high revs and two SilverStone fans in the back that are even faster, blowing air out... it's not much, but it keeps everything super cool today :ugly:

                              Saludos
