Hello!
I want to buy a monitor suitable for photographic work. In addition to good color fidelity and image QUALITY, I am interested in having a large screen size. I have opted for the Ultrasharp series from DELL, although I doubt between these two models:
Dell UltraSharp U3011
In principle this is my main choice, thanks among other things to the great review that the companion Rocket made on his Blog.

Although, on the other hand, I am also attracted to the model…
Dell UltraSharp U2713H
Which is a more current monitor, LED and comparing specifications, with some advantages and improvements in terms of image quality, connections and design. That yes, three inches smaller and not much cheaper for it (Obviando the “official” price shown on its web).

Between them also differ in formats: 16:10 the first and 16:9 the second.
Could anyone provide some comment that would make me lean towards one or the other? Regarding photography, is 16:10 or 16:9 better? Does anyone have any of the mentioned models to share their experience? Is it possible that a new review of the U3011 model will come out soon?
Of course, I would also appreciate any other suggestion regarding different brands and models.
Best regards and thanks in advance!

Can anyone guide me? :_(

Uncle Rocket takes great photos. I remember one of a very beautiful eagle, what a great piece of subject matter he had... He had the focus on the beak and it gave a very successful sense of depth.
As for monitors, I couldn't tell you without having seen them but I would almost go for the 27 inch one because of the price, pixel size and LED contrast, and I love 16:10 more. Anyway, if you prefer size, it's a toss-up xD

it is clear that if it is for work and photography above all the Dell UltraSharp U3011 is your monitor
2560 x 1600 and an aspect ratio of 16:10 is the best optionregards

I have both or almost...
The U3011 and the U2713Hm.
The U3011 is the best Dell monitor right now by far. It uses a Samsung H-IPS panel with CCFL backlighting, the traditional one.
While the U2713Hm uses an LG AH-IPS, which I assume will be the same as the U2713H. A more modern and thinner panel thanks to the LED, but cheaper.
The panel, the color gamut, which is wider, the Adobe RGB modes and so on, are more successful in the previous model than in the new.Es that is, in the U3011. Apart from being 16:10. For photography, I used to recommend this monitor over the other one clearly. Then it has greater connectivity, Dual dual-link DVI and higher build quality. But it needs calibration apart.
Now, the U2713H is the first "professional" monitor from Dell. It uses the same panel as the Hm, and the only thing I see as differentiating is that it has hardware calibration, I think that's where the extra cost is. The LED may be an advantage for watching movies or gaming, although for me it's not, at least in gaming mode, the darkness that is not true blacks makes it almost impossible to get a clear view of the game at night.
But as I say, if I'm not mistaken in the specifications of the U2713H and it has a different panel than the hm, without a doubt for what you want is better the U3011... and on top of that, 30" and 16:10...
I should tell you that I just changed my U2713hm for the previous model, the U2711 which I think is a much better monitor, in case it helps you...;)
Best regards.

I greatly appreciate the information provided. It is clear to me that the best option is the U3011. Now the doubt is whether to buy it now or better wait for the release, apparently not too late, of its successor.
Dilemmas, dilemmas!

I think, and I hope I'm wrong, that they will use the same LG LED panel for the U3013.. and I keep saying that, much to my regret, the previous one is better. Especially because it has a wider color gamut and is better for photography and such things..
But if you want to wait, go ahead...
Best regards.

ELP3, do you know what I mean? You've just given me the little push I needed to buy it as soon as possible, I don't like waiting at all, haha! The thing is that until a few days ago it was at 950 on amazon.es and now not only is it more expensive but they also sell it through third parties. At PCcomponentes it's not a bad price but they are currently out of stock... and the cheapest I've seen is at Redcoon, a store that has never given me much confidence, I've always seen them as something like pixmania when it comes to guarantees and stuff. Anyway, I would really appreciate any suggestions on where to buy it at a good price apart from the ones mentioned. Best regards and thanks for the advice! -
