Don't buy movies on Amazon if you're not going to watch them right away

Although you see offers of 2x1, 3x2, etc. I do not recommend buying movies, series or similar on Amazon if you are not going to watch them within 30 days…
I buy (or used to buy, I'm not entirely sure) quite a lot of movies and series on Amazon. Many of these movies have been sealed on the shelf for quite some time until I had time to watch them, and an example of them is the Alien Anthology on BluRay + Bonus disc. It turns out that several times throughout the 2nd and 3rd movies, the Spanish audio track has the voices in English, and as Shakespeare's language comes, Cervantes' language returns.
Well, I bought these movies in July 2012, as I consider that the movies are bad, I proceed to open a chat with the support department so that they can change them and basically they come to tell me that there is a 30-day deadline for the return or replacement. But they will do me a favor by making me a refund. Previously, they make me understand that it is a problem of the batch and not of my movies. I imagine that it will be because of something in the extended version that is not translated and they left it in English in a sloppy way.
I thank them and ask them to process it.
      Here the complete conversation

I receive the return labels and tomorrow I will try to make the shipment, not without first going to the product sheet (Alien Anthology + Bonus Discs [Blu-ray]: Amazon.es: Weaver, Sigourney, Skerritt, Tom, Dutton, Charles, Ryder, Winona, Ridley Scott, James Cameron: Movies and TV Series) and see that I am not the only one to whom this happens and I suppose that is why they 'did me the favor' of making the refund (dpasamar's review of Alien Anthology + Bonus Discs [Blu-ray])

"I hope it passes a successful weekend"… with that you have told me everything xDD

Well, from now on we will be very careful, because it seems to me that not everyone will want to "do us a favor" by accepting returns after 30 days... thanks for informing Packo, and I hope everything arrives safely, although I must admit that I would hardly take almost a year to open and try something bought over the internet, mostly to check that it works correctly, although the thing with the audio tracks is only noticeable if you are going to watch the whole movie, and it's easy to not notice until you have time to watch it.

Because for a few years now: customers/users = Beta Testers

And if no one complains, the Product Manager is a genius at reducing costs

Well, I have several purchases pending and one of them is for Alien. Also, according to the comments, it seems that the good one is the one imported from Italy. Wow, you have to read carefully before buying. However, I must say that Amazon mixes up the reviews, whether it's for DVDs, Blu-rays, or games. You have to read carefully before buying, because every day I see something new and bad about this, not to mention the xxx versions of each movie, apart from the language.

If it helps as a reference, I am a consumer of HD movies, although I confess that I don't buy them very often. In the extended versions, "uncesored", etc. of both current and old movies, there are parts that are not dubbed because they were never aired in cinemas in Spain.

In modern movies, they are usually scenes that raise the "rating" of the movie to not recommended for children under 18. They remove them to make them 7+ or 13+ and thus reach a wider audience.

I don't know if these edits come done this way in the original BD or if they are done by "amateur editors". But what does seem is that this practice is also carried out on original discs.

Other times, especially in old movies where some scenes did not pass the Francoist censorship for reasons that today seem ridiculous, they were dubbed quite some time after being aired and you can perfectly see the change in the voice of the dubbers, the background noise, the dynamic range and everything. That is what I find really cheap and it ruins a movie for me.

If they then complain that people download movies for free…

All of that is very true. Almost all extended versions have that problem.

If you want to see an example of total mess with dubbing, you can watch "All the President's Men".

and then they complain that fewer and fewer movies are sold every day, but between the abusive prices and these messes the strange thing is that they still sell anything.

more than one will think it's bad, and I don't care, but I only buy a movie / music / game or whatever after trying it in other ways. if I see that it's of good quality and they've worked hard on it I don't mind paying for it, but with the rubbish they're putting out currently I'm not going to leave them a single euro ¬¬

Looking at the humorous side of the chat a bit (the Amazon employee was very correct by the way), does anyone else find it strange when he says goodbye at the end and says: It was a pleasure, Francisco. :troll:

LOL, it seems like he just made a joke while talking to you :ugly:

                      With great pleasure…this…regards!
