UltraMod "workblog" by Jotole

In this work, more than a very elaborate Mod, what I have practically done is a very elaborate montage….....xD.
All stories have a beginning and this one starts more or less a couple of weeks ago when I changed my motherboard, an Asus Rampage IV Extreme, which suddenly went on indefinite vacation.. for an MSI Big Bang.
My old case, a Mod of a Mod..........xD (it's a long story). It suddenly became too small for me, and it's a copy of the Mountain Mod Ascension. When I mounted the motherboard, which is XL-ATX format, the pci-ex slots start two slots lower than on ATX or E-ATX motherboards, so I couldn't plug in the Creative Titanium HD sound card, and it canceled out the possibility of mounting a 4way…...I'm not saying I'm thinking of doing it again but you never know....xD. And once you try a sound card of that caliber, the integrated one sounds like a tin can..........xD.

You can see the case threads I'm talking about in this same section…
Without further ado, I leave you some images of the case that I finished last night.
If you're a bit confused, the story goes like this;** TJ07-BlackMod-UltraMod**….... And I hope that's where it stays......
The hardware of the team:
i7 3930k @ 4,9 Ghz
MSI Big Banb XpowerII
16 GB Corsair Dominator Platinum @ 2400 CL9
3 x GTX 670 Gigabyte OC
Raid 0 SSD Corsair Force GT 250 Gb.
Raid 0 W.D. Black 1Tb.
Enermax Revolution 1250WR.L.
Radiator Black Ice 3x 120
Radiator XTX by EK 3x 120
Radiator Phobya Supernova 9x 120
Red Masterkleer tube
LED fans x 14x 12 cm.
2 Laing D5 pumps
Varied raccords….......... Thanks Praimus. ;).
Case: Phobya Ultra Big
Some details are still missing, and I will keep updating the thread as I finish them, I wanted to put it together quickly even though some details are missing, being without a gaming rig can be...

What a great job you've done
The mod looks amazing, especially the interior, very tidy and aesthetic, congratulations on the work. The only thing I don't really like are the 9 fans and the wiring attached to the side of the case, although I suppose a better configuration was not possible
By the way, 3 GTX670, what do you play? what a madness…:ugly:
Regards!

As you already know, Jotole has left you dead, you are capable of taking a "ugly" piece of crap and making a first-rate assembly.
You know that I say it's ugly because I don't like it jajajaja.
Anyway, all that's left for you to do is to change the fittings for bitspower and sheath the cables jejeje.
Play in Surround with three 1080 monitors.
Best regards.

Thanks kalevala, it's not finished yet, in the place of the big radiator, there's a radiator cover, indeed there's no other place to attach that radiator, and the fans have to go outside, that one is dedicated to cooling the 3930 and the motherboard's mosfets. As soon as I put the cover on, it will change radically.
About the 670s, it's not what game I play, but where….........xD.
I play in Surround, with three monitors and a total resolution of 6000 x 1080p, you can see it in the photos, since I tried it I don't think I'll ever go back to a monitor. And of course that resolution, and putting the games on full, ask for quite a lot........... ;).
Thanks again!!!
Cheers...

As you already know Jotole you have done a great job, you are capable of taking a "ugly" mess and making a first-rate setup.
You know that I say it's ugly because I don't like it jajajaja.

Praimus..., you replied while I was writing the previous post.......xD.
The truth is that the case by itself is ugly, there's no point in saying otherwise.........xD, it is......Jejejee. The first time I saw it, you know I was hesitating between keeping the BlackMod, or staying with this one, but as I like challenges, and this one completed what I was missing from the black, the expansion slots, and the bays, which were also too short for me. I decided to get into the mess.
I'm quite happy with the result, I didn't like the distribution that came with the case, and I opted to put the radiator the way you have it in your little one, which looks much better. I think that in the end it has turned out quite curious, except for the 9 x 120, but that will be solved.....
Let's see if you show us your little one, that one is a beauty.............. ;).
Thanks again, for everything. ;).

For sure Jotole, haven't you thought about spending the cash on an Ultrawide? I would have spent a fortune on having no borders and models are coming out that aren't a rip-off, although I confess to being in love with the curved NEC :ugly:
It would be a matter of trying them out but, come on, I would gladly give up more than 2 GPUs and rigs for having a big screen. The summum for me would be a good projector with a curved screen :eoh: I would take a few vicious hits at the car simulators that vamoss :troll:

Chapó Jotole, I take off my hat. A great setup, neat and meticulous.
When it's finished with the radiator cover and the window it will be luxurious. By the way, when are you going to change the monitors that you have all broken. ;D ;D.Best regards.

For sure Jotole. Wouldn't you rather spend your money on an Ultrawide? I'd rather spend my money on having no borders, and models are coming out that aren't a rip-off, although I'm in love with the curved NEC :ugly:
It would be a matter of trying them out, but I'd gladly give up more than 2 GPUs and RLs for a big screen. For me, the ultimate would be a good projector with a curved screen :eoh: I'd take a beating in the car simulators that are coming :troll:
I've already looked at those screens, when I first had surround, I was very reluctant to the borders of monitors, but when you get into a game, you don't even notice they're there. These screens have a disadvantage, apart from their price, and it's the resolution they use, they're not "standard" resolutions, and they'll distort a game quickly, that is if the game detects them, if not, it'll put black borders until it reaches the predefined resolution it marks.
On the other hand, that thing you said about giving up GPUs isn't viable, think that in those screens you also have astronomical resolutions, and moving that isn't within the reach of 2 graphics cards, whatever they may be…..
The RL thing could maybe be left aside, but have you never had one?? I tell you this because once you see a processor at 5Ghz, that doesn't go over 60º in full, you don't want to see a heatsink even in paint........xD.
It's exactly the same with graphics cards, seeing them at 23º on idle, and at 40º in full, with an OC of 1200/7200, is priceless, good if it has and it's expensive..............xD. But it's worth it and a lot.

Best regards...
Chapeau Jotole, I take my hat off to you. A great setup, neat and meticulous.

Thanks Nemo, let's see if I finish those loose ends soon and it will be almost perfect. ;).
Haha, you like the wallpaper ;). Changing the 3 DELL 2312HM, I would only do it for 3 of 27", and there's still no hardware capable of moving it. Maybe Titan, who knows. ;).
Best regards…

It is true that when I saw the monitors they looked really broken, as you can see in the small photo, and after a long time playing Dead space 3 I couldn't see anything anymore, but when I saw the other one with a similar break I already knew that two don't break like that just like that.
Good job too, you are a craftsman of the PCs.
Best regards.

Without words, you left me speechless :ugly:
what a lot of work that mod takes, it is certainly the clear example of how to take a normal box and turn it into a whole monument, congratulations master!!!.
The only downside is, if you put a fairing that hides the radiator and a grille covering the 9X12 radiator it would be already luxurious.
Regards.;D -

I haven't forgotten about it, it's just on "stand by", I have to put another bomb and a double top, for the graphics routing, and I'm waiting to see Titan, in case I need to order blocks...xD.
Everything is a bit on hold ;).

Well, in the end I've made another update to the team, although this time, it has more to do with peripherals, with monitors to be exact.
I changed my 3 x Dell 2312HM

For 3 x Dell U2711

Before with the surround of the 23 (5760 x 1080p), with the 3 way of 670 I was more than served to put all the titles in Ultra, and play comfortably.
Now at (7680 x 1440p), I'm going to the frioleara of 11.3 million pixels per image, :ugly:, that's nothing. Needless to say that to play decently at a minimum of 60 fps, you have to lower options in all the titles.
But that is being studied at the moment..

On the other hand, if the feeling of immersion with a surround of 1080 is great, now it directly seems like you are "inside" the game. I am more than happy with the change. Of these monitors that I am going to tell you, one of the best panels that exist. If the 2312HM already looked good, this is impressive, in fact you don't know how good it looks until you have one in front of you.

insanely envious ;D
P.D more than a month's salary -
Hello.
I was so looking forward to seeing your MODS hahaha, I only have one word, INCREDIBLE.
For my surround I would need one more card, as you say, with the tri sli you can put almost all the details in very high...
This weekend, I have been testing Max Payne 3 and Tomb Raiders what a blast with surround. It is totally different the feeling it can give you to play it with just one.
I wonder if I can find the space and time to upload my modding.......
I think you bought a 27" Dell ips monitor from hard2, correct me if I'm wrong...... I want to make a surround with 27" monitors.
Hugs.

Take care.
And I was also looking forward to seeing you active around here.
.Indeed for a 1080p surround, the ideal is a third graphics card, although with the latest titles that are coming out you would need a fourth like with your old 4 way of 680. ;). Crysis 3, Tomb Raider, Sleeping Dogs, and the trend will be that, the new Metro, Bioschok… etc...
If I have to correct you, I didn't buy one, I got 3 Dell U2711. :), you have them in the last images of the blog...
That surround is already a big deal, at 7680 x 1440p, the performance of the games, in the most demanding ones, has gone down to almost half of the 23"… :(.
So if you're considering it, start thinking about changing the graphics........ :(.
Take care...
P.D. You're taking your time to leave images of that Modi you have in the gpu blocks..........

hahaha what a big guy you've gotten yourself…. I've seen the photos of the dell, they're impressive....
I hope you tell us your feelings about them, I know more than one person who is eager to get them, and who better than one of us to have it and give us his perspective....
We will have to ask ELP3 for a few titans to handle the latest titles with that kind of resolution.
I'll catch up and update and upload my rig, because seeing the level that there is lately around here:wall: hahaha
A hug.
