Nexus 4 root twrp custom ROM and kernel
-
Open Bootloader.
It is the first step to be able to install a custom ROM. Once we have opened the bootloader, we will copy the TWRP recovery version files and root to the internal memory of the phone.
Necessary Files
Once we have clicked on the unlock option, it will check if the adb connection is correct and will restart in fastboot mode asking if we want to unlock it (Unlock bootloader). We will say yes and it warns us that we may lose the warranty. This can be reversed if we have to send it by closing the bootloader and leaving the flash counter at 0. We have given yes and we already have the bootloader open and we can proceed to install TWRP.
Installing TWRP, recovery.
We copy the file that we have downloaded to the terminal as I indicated above.
We will open the Toolkit tool.

We turn off the terminal and enter fastboot mode and click yes
The temporary recovery will appear
We go to Install/TWRP
We install the zip version that we have copied, wipes dalvik cache and restart.Perfect, we have what is necessary for it to inject root access into the system. Now we proceed to root it with toolkit.
1º Open toolkit
2º click on root
3º it will restart the terminal and root the smartphone. During the process, do not touch anything, patience. :ugly:**
Custom ROM Installation**Once we have the terminal with the bootloader open, we can already install a Custom ROM. In other terminals, depending on the ROM, it must be rooted when moving from stock to custom ROM. In this case, we have rooted the terminal and solved it. We must warn that we come from the previous thread Nexus 4, leave the terminal from the factory.
and we are in 4.2.2 if we are in 4.1.2 we must update previously to 4.2.2 to perform all these steps.1º download a custom ROM.
ParanoindroidI uploaded it for those who want to try this one in particular. To date, there are more updates, however, the last stable one is from March 15.
:mudo:
2º Copy the zip file once downloaded to the internal memory of the phone.
3º Turn off the terminal and enter the recovery.
4º Install and go to the zip file and click. Install.
5º wipe dalvik cache and restart the system.Kernel Installation
Necessary Files
Kernel Cleaner (Scripts)
WLan_revert Deletes traces of app configuration settings, cpu control, voltages, etc.
Stock Kernel 4.2.2
Trinity Kernel (OC, OV, UV)We will download all these files and copy them to the internal memory of the phone.
If We Are on Stock
1º Access the recovery
2º Flash wlan_revert, wipe dalvik cache
3º Flash Awersome
4º Flash the trinity kernel (TF131-1836-4.2.2(2).zip) wipe and restart. In the case that we are on stock and we want to try another kernel, we must follow the steps up to the 4th. **In the fourth, we would flash the stock kernel 4.2.2 we would do the wipes and then we would install the kernel that we like the most.
We must always do these steps when we are on stock.
**
If We Are on AOSP/AOKP/Cyanogen1º Access the recovery
2º Flash the wlan_revert and wipe.
3º Flash the Awersome and wipe
4º Flash the trinity kernel or the one that interests us the most.To change the kernel on AOSP/AOKP/Cyanogen, it is not necessary to install the stock kernel before installing the custom kernel.
