Doubt about problem in HD6970
-
Good afternoon, first of all, I introduce myself, my name is sacha and I wanted to ask you a couple of questions after googling and only finding on igles…
If I have not placed the post in the right place, I apologize.
I have the following PC
Asus p9X79 Deluxe
16gb ddr 3 2133 gskill
Intel i7 3930k
Shapire Radeon HD 6970 2gb
FA 1100w
SSD OCZ 128 Gb
Segate 500gb sata
Maxtor 200 sata
Maxtor 160 sataUntil 2 days ago, the PC was working wonderfully, as it was already a bit saturated, I decided to format it.
When I formatted and reinstalled Windows and all its drivers, when I entered the PC, only the SSD disk came up, the other 3 did not appear, the strange thing is that in the Intel application that comes for HDDs, they appeared to me but these were not present in my PC.
I dismantled the whole PC to clean all the dust accumulated from a whole year,
Once cleaned, I put everything back together, when I turned it on, it only recognized the SSD disk, the BIOS did not recognize any SATA device, including the reader.
I unplugged all the connectors and changed the SATA locations, alternating their order and reconnected, suddenly it made the attempt to start but then it turned off.
I pressed the motherboard's power button but it did not turn on, I did a CMOS reset and it started again but now 3 red LEDs light up on the motherboard
The first one to light up is the one on the RAM, it flashes and turns off,
Followed by an LED above the VGA that says VGA LED and finally one in the lower corner of the motherboard that says I think boot device and stays on and does not open video, and nothing is seen on the screen, the LED indicator tells me A2 or A0, I looked in the manual and searched on the internet but only appears something on tomshardware and through the translator I do not understand.I grabbed and changed the VGA for one that I had around for 30€ and now it does open video but it does not recognize any SATA device, no matter where I put it in any of the 8, it does not recognize any of them
I reconnect the 6970 in another PC and it does not open video either,
Could it be that this VGA has died??
On the other hand, how do I solve the problem of the SATA devices so that it recognizes the HDDs.
Thank you very much and I hope for your responses as I am really screwed without a PC,
Many thanks

hello and welcome
i think you should go step by step, first the graphics card and then the rest.
disconnect all peripherals, clean the memory slots and the PCI of the graphics with a brush or compressed air, connect only one memory module and the graphics and see if the PC starts.
anyway if you say that you have tried the graphics card on another PC and it does not work... it looks bad.
P.D. try to take care of the spelling a little ;D it is very possible that many people will not want to answer you because they will consider that if you do not bother to write reasonably well, you will not bother with anything

Thank you very much for the advice. I'm writing from my mobile and my fingers are quite big xD
A single memory module, the 6970, and it doesn't open video,
but if I put a geoferce from 4 years ago, it lets me enter the bios.I've plugged the 6970 into a
P5q
6600 core duo
8gg gskillAnd it still doesn't open video, which is what's bugging me.
2 points. The motherboard
With the geoferce, it lets me enter the bios, but why doesn't it recognize any sata ports??
In the sata section, I see 6 ports but
No hard drives and all are connected.I doubt it's the power supply, but the fans are working, which means there's power in the molexes.
Greetings and thanks!

Apparently as you say it's a problem with your graphics card and your sata or siemplemente connectors or simply it's not getting enough power and therefore it doesn't recognize them. It would be better if you uploaded a video recorded from a mobile or something to see more clearly the problem you have since as you explain it's a bit more difficult to see the problem clearly. -

hello.
reset the bios or set it to default values.
check the power connectors of the graphics card and if you can try with another power supply

saludos
