Drop in fps when moving the character
-
hello, a few days ago I reinstalled aion, and I have a small problem that I can't solve.
in one area (it doesn't matter which area), with a single graphic or with sli deactivated I have about 30-35fps. if I activate sli, in the same area I have constant 60fps (limited to 60 by vsync) with the load of the two gpus around 100%, so far so good. if I rotate the camera the fps remain constant, but the moment I move the character (walk or run) the load of each gpu drops to 50% and the fps fall to single graphic values.
it's supposed that this game supports sli without problems (in fact when standing still it works perfect), and when I move the character sli is still active, just with the graphics at half throttle.
does anyone have any idea why this happens? in the nvidia control panel I have sli activated, in other games it works well...

With little initial idea, but remembering the experience with other games: Do you have the game patched? With the latest patches, fixes, or whatever, it's something that may have to do.
Saludos descastao :troll:

I'm going to make a risky bet, does the game have blur motion? If it does, try to see how it performs by deactivating it. It's a curiosity, more than anything, but maybe I'm right.

blur motion is when moving objects leave a kind of trail behind them? ¬¬

First of all, I have to say that I have never played Aion.
I have looked around a bit on the English forums about your problem, but either no one with SLI/Crossfire has this problem, or it is not mentioned. What is mentioned is that the latest patch has increased the level of minimum hardware requirements.
The closest thing to your question has been this (entry #5).
As I say, the solutions are not mine, I have just searched and this has been the closest:
2009 SLI support in nVidia driver for Aion (Quite old, and I think that current drivers already include it, but still.)
2009 Trick to make SLI work in Aion (By the year, and by the mention of the game's status, I estimate that at that time it was in beta, I suppose that this will be more than overcome, but it may still be useful. Basically, it exposes the procedure to make the drivers recognize the application to run in SLI.)
2011 "aion.bin" and the SLI profile problem (More or less the same as the previous one, somewhat more current, with some indication that modifying the game files can be grounds for expulsion)
2013 I can't reach the right fps (A user with an i7 930 who is diagnosed with a bottleneck problem due precisely to the CPU)I'm sorry I can't be of more help. :crying:

I've looked at the options and I don't see anything about blur. I also tried setting everything to the minimum without any special effects and it still has the same problem.
about that trick you found, it's quite old and doesn't work anymore. Besides, my problem isn't with activating sli, but with its performance.

Well, I can only think that it's a problem with the game itself (since everything else works fine).
Anyway, try disabling vSync even if you lose everything that goes over 60 fps.

Yes, but you could try with any option that says "post process" or similar, if there is a strong dependency between frames the performance of a multigpu can be reduced in some cases to that of a graphics card, as you said it happens to you when you move, any kind of post-processing effect that is linked to when you move could have something to do with it.
But I see that in principle this does not seem to be the case.
