Well I've seen this news, which if it's true will be great news, what do you think?
-
You can hear voices saying that Valve could take advantage of the whole SteamBox thing to release Half Life 3.
But I'm afraid they're just people's wishes turned into rumors.
The thing is that it's been 9 years since the release of Half Life 2; it wouldn't be unreasonable.
-
Now they already speak openly about it being false, the result of rumors that associate SteamBox with a possible mega-launch of its flagship franchise.

Salu2!
It was also denied that Steam for Linux was being developed and a year later it was released.
All of this is part of marketing to keep people on edge: I still remember when Half Life 2 was going to come out and I became a true fan of the game even before it came out. Back then they were always saying "it's coming out next month!" and then it didn't come out. There was even a theft of the game's source code that could be downloaded from emule and that made (I'm not entirely sure why) it delayed even more, increasing the eagerness of the followers.
The point is that there are two clear facts:
- The third part of the saga is missing.
- It's been almost a decade since the second part.
And if you ask me, I add another one: the Source engine has become obsolete and needs to be renewed.
-
New rumors talk about a supposed mailing list where people linked to a project called HL3-Core or something like that appear.
No one doubts that they are working on it, just like on a new Source engine, but about when it will be ready, until they officially announce it, nothing at all.
All the hype about Valve helps the STEAMBox, so they will be delighted to encourage it, or at least they won't deny anything :troll:

Today I saw this image :troll:

I agree with Fassou that it is just a ball rolling down the hill taking advantage of the momentum of its SteamOS and derivatives.
If it turns out to be true in the end (stranger things have been seen), then better for the most loyal fans. Personally, the second installment disappointed me so much that I feel ashamed of having spent the money, both for the lousy plot and for the implementation of that money-grubbing called Steam, may it be struck dead.
HL 1 FTW!!!

Joe, well I was one of those who hated Steam to death, but now I have discovered what it is like to have games at a price that doesn't make you want to complicate your life "searching" for them elsewhere.
I'm not saying I don't enjoy looking at my treasures in their little box... but being able to get a Bioshock Infinite + Mafia 2 for 9€ is a joy.I'm one of those waiting like an idiot for HL3 to come out, jajaja. I suppose it would be a good push for their Steam Machine
