@fassou I was curious and tried to install Lost Alpha 1.004, I downloaded the full mod and proceeded to install it.
Once I open the installer, it gives me an error constantly and I am not able to run the game. Is the original game required? Because I have it, but I had read that it was not necessary and that installing it was enough.Looking for some info on Google, what I am finding is not helping me understand why, has this happened to you? Is it solved by looking for another game launcher?
Regards!!

@_neptunno_ Well, I also trusted it to be a stand-alone, and in my case I don't have the base game.
What error do you get? I just downloaded it but haven't installed it yet. -
@defaultuser the error I get is as follows:

From what I see in Russian forums and some English ones (Steam) it must be a matter of the configurator and that it is more up to date than the account (or less).
I downloaded one that I located, although I don't feel very confident about going into Russian pages because between not understanding a damn thing and things being hot and they can slip you any kind of bug if you're not careful...
but anyway I tried it and it stopped giving me the error, but the game starts but it stays as if it's running but nothing comes up.
I'm going to try to do a full installation...to see if it has to do with that. It has many things to touch, which is great to have so much configuration...but I see it as more complex to get it going if you don't know what you're touching xD
Regards!!

@_neptunno_ "... An error has occurred and the program's state is unstable... more details in the log."
Let's see if it's going to be more entertaining to install than to play
but well when I have a moment I'll have to figure it out.Salu2.

I hope not hahaha Anyway let's see if our buddy @Fassou can clarify something if he reads it and knows about the problem

What's really messing me up is that you can enable many options in the game, like other mods and such, but well... I'll give it Full and see what happens hahaha
I'm also thinking that I'm installing it on a modest PC, it's the family PC with an FX 8xxx /GTX 750Ti/16GB... maybe that has something to do with it.

I doubt it's obsolete, but the fact that there are many hands might have something to do with it

@_neptunno_ You can't lose sight of them for a moment

You go here and download the 6 parts of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Lost Alpha v1.4007 DC. There is also a Torrent option if it's more convenient for you.
And the instructions you can read where you have the links is:
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Lost Alpha v1.4007 Developer's Cut This is the full release of the 1.4007 version of Lost Alpha Director's Cut. No previous versions are needed, all mods are included. To install, download this file, and the five other parts, put them into one folder, run the setup from the last file, and proceed according with the instructions. It is recommended to use a folder in the root, better if it's not in C:\\ to avoid permission problems.
The installer will launch several installers of necessary plugins for it to work correctly, but you will only have to do this the first time (I usually cancel most of them).
See you later!

Installing...
With the options on automatic, except for the Russian voices which I have disabled. -
@_Neptunno_ I get the same error but the game works.

Well, what I found out is that the translation into Spanish was causing problems and I managed to start the game and all that. I mean, so come on at least to try it even if it's in English to see if it works. But when I try to exit the game it gets stuck and I have to close the Windows session.
Something strange is happening, I don't rule out that it's something from this PC, but until I make sure it works well I'm not going to get into the adventure, you can't imagine how annoying it is to have the game break when you've been playing for a few hours jajaja
I'll investigate and let you know... it's strange, maybe it's a matter of uninstalling it completely and reinstalling it, I don't know. I'll keep trying.
Greetings!!

And when you exit the game, does it close properly? I mean, using the exit button.

It happened to me the first time, after adjusting the graphic quality and trying to close it while going to windows, and without having started a game.
the second time I played until the first checkpoint, I saved the game manually, I exited first to the main screen and then to windows, and everything went well. -
@defaultuser I downloaded another configurator that was posted on the Steam forum and replaced the one that comes with the installation.
With this one, the error message doesn't appear and it even offers the option to update it and several other things. I loaded the game I had generated and it worked fine, and when I quit it seems to close correctly.I hope this will maintain some stability, I still have to test the translation issue, I'll comment if I find the problem of why it interferes with the game.
Greetings!!

If you used the standard procedure (which I mentioned above), the game's own configurator/launcher would notify you that it had a more modern version to download (although I did not apply it).
That occasionally, when exiting the game, the game's execution window gets stuck (does not respond) and the Configurator/Launcher's window with the "fan" spinning waiting to update the Saves, is something "frequent" that is solved simply by killing the task of the stuck window and the Configurator/Launcher comes out normally.
You could also be given the case that when starting for the first time after logging in, the same thing happens to you with the game's execution window and you need to End it and try Start or Load Game again in the Configurator/Launcher of the game, but in no case are the Saved Games lost or corrupted.
The times that while playing it has taken me to the Desktop are anecdotal, and always related to parts of the game with many concurrent events at once, usually when there is some "catastrophic" event that affects the main plot line. I don't think there were more than one or two times, in all the many times I have played Lost Alpha with or without LAR.
Salu2! Stalkers!
PD: I wouldn't try to put it in Spanish
-
@fassou thanks for your wise advice

Well, in the end I used the translation that is published on moddb (v1.4.007792) and for now it seems to be working, perhaps the problem is using a translation that doesn't match the game version, but from what I've read it generally works quite well and you can finish the game without any problem.
However, if I detect anything or have any information about it, I will comment on it.
Greetings!!

Here we go, little by little. For now it works for me, without touching anything, I just removed something for the Russian voices, just in case.
can we play multiplayer games on this? -

Can we play multiplayer games in this one?Well, I'm not sure about the multiplayer, but what I do know is that I'm enjoying this game and it's making me enjoy S.T.A.L.K.E.R. again. Back in February, I started with Clear Sky, and after 15 years of not being in the zone, I found myself a bit disoriented on the map and barely recognized anything.
Now that I've spent a few hours on Lost Alpha, I'm starting to "get my bearings" a bit, and to top it off, I just picked up Shadow of Chernobyl in a Steam sale (I have it in physical format, like the other two) and I started playing it too... and wow, it's like traveling back in time xDAnyway, I just wanted to share this with you all, as it gets harder to get into a story mode game and get hooked like when we were 20, so that's why I love the feeling this experience is giving me.
Greetings Gamers!!

By the way, I was recommended Chernobylite I don't know if anyone has played it or has information about it, although I imagine it won't have a "direct" relation to the Stalker saga... but obviously yes with "The Zone"

We'll see if we can create a thread about it, if anyone has experience with the game.
Regards!!
