Opinions about Alienware X51!
-
HL companions,
Once again I appeal to your wisdom, as I have done so many times in the past. I hope that now that it is summer and many of you are on vacation you can help me:
Given the recent wave of games (gta5, witcher 3) and those to come (tomb raider), I have decided to invest in a gaming machine again. I don't have much free time and I won't be pushing it to its limits, and it only has to last me a year (in June of next year I hope to be out of Spain again). With these premises I have decided that an alienware x51 is not a bad option for me
The configuration that I think may be adequate you can see here: Details of the Alienware X51 gaming desktop | Dell Spain
It is the second of the 4 available: it only costs 976€ and I think it can give decent performance. The machine has an i5, 8gb ram and a gtx 750 2gb ddr5. If you think that this gpu is not enough, for 140€ more it can have a gtx 960 2gb or for 110€ an amd r9 370 4gbWhat do you think? I am more or less decided on the machine, but I am especially interested in your opinion on which GPU is worth it (I can run current games with the gtx 750 at normal resolutions in high)
I humbly await your comments, I have two weeks of vacation left and if I order soon maybe I can play a day before going back to the work frenzy
Greetings gamers!
P.s: in the meantime, I am going to post a similar question in the monitor forum to get your opinion on those

Good afternoon master

Well, I think what you need today is to go high with graphics of at least 4Gb and why not, a powerful i7, which in the end will favor that the super demands of the new games are satisfied, at least to put them at FULL.
With 8Gb of RAM I think you are fine.Otherwise there is little to add. A 27" monitor will make you enjoy, but that depends on your tastes or the space you have available.
Greetings!

Your thing is to look for a computer rental company. :troll:
I've been trying to set up something that can be transported without problems and that pays off as an easy-to-depreciate team.
It didn't turn out bad, but that of abandoning the computer every time you go on a trip... remember that "He would never do that" ;D
So for a "use and throw away" computer, the X51 is not bad, the graphics thing, well on the one hand you have the nvidia fish memory versus the lack of decency in AMD drivers, take what you take, it's a wash.
If I had to change something, personally I prefer a 256 GB SSD and a 1 TB mechanical one, but in that team it's not worth spending a dime more than what they ask for it.Overall, I see everything as unbalanced as you can expect from a generic, but I don't think it will fall short in the time frame you give it.
...and don't sell yourself so expensive damn it.

Greetings, comrades!
I knew you would try to vitaminize my PC XD. Whoololon, thank you very much for the configuration. I also want to spend 2k on a good PC, but I'm only going to use it for 4 hours on the weekend and even that's not true, because sometimes I spend entire weeks out of Madrid
If you think that this PC and GPU (the R9) are correct for playing the games I mentioned without lag, I'll get it right away

By the way, and for the same reasons as the PC (also because of space, my apartment is nice but small), I've been thinking about a 23-24 inch monitor. What do you recommend for ~150€? I said, I don't want to invest more because in a year I'll be moving
I know "I wouldn't do it", but at this point in my life, I like to travel light
Greetings!

24" monitor, for gaming (TN), less than 150 €, Benq GL2460.
Triple "B".

24" monitor, for gaming (TN), under 150€, Benq GL2460.
Triple "B".

Thanks! Any suggestions for a safe and nice online website to buy it?
I was looking at GPU comparisons on toms hardware and at 1920x1080 and ultra or high and the gtx960 2gb eats the 370 4gb in all games: http://us.hardware.info/reviews/6163/7/amd-radeon-r7r9-300-series-review-r7-370-2-and-4gb-r9-380-2-and-4gb-and-r9-390-and-390x-benchmarked-benchmarks-far-cry-4
Saludos!!

Edit: I'm replying to myself. They have it in stock on amazon and at a good price. I just hope they don't leave it lying at the front door if I'm not home XD

Refloated 1 year later Got the X51 we were talking about in the thread, now that it's time for me to leave Madrid I sold it for 800EUR (monitor included) so I think I got good use out of it. That said, even though I was able to play everything on high without problems I won't buy one of these generic PCs again (Whoololon you were right): it comes with a cart of "malware" and crap preinstalled that bogs down the PC Saludos! -
Another time out of Spain? It's always the best who leave
Salu2! Jugon!
