Microsoft infiltrates enemy Headquarters, in the purest style of Sam Fisher in Splinter Cell ?

Let's not start with the buy-assimilate-destroy thing, it's already outdated.
Maybe this deserves a longer-term reading, perhaps they want to release their own distribution or even go further: the convergence between both OS.
The penguin has his back covered, the GNU license and people like Stallman, Torvalds, in addition to the countless anonymous heroes who continue to develop said OS, take care of that.
It wouldn't be bad if he used his position to pressure the different hardware manufacturers in the development of drivers for GNU/Linux... dreaming is free, right?

@whoololon Although all his moves so far seem honest, for some reason I distrust his real reasons. It may be that he simply wants to go behind the Linux wheel but it would also be relatively easy to do things like incorporate some irrelevant changes to things like SSH and over time end up making his implementation incompatible with the original protocol.

He has already done similar dirty tricks with OOXML support in Office or publishing specifications of his document formats that are incomplete or absolutely incomprehensible to developers. And I see it as normal that he does these things. That's why I would see it as normal that he tried a move to end with some free implementation and end up forcing certain sectors to use his proprietary implementation.
