Example full configuration Gaming +1300€
-
Hello colleagues,
Recently a colleague told me that he wants to change his PC and that he was going to get the most powerful one from pccomponentes since he wants to play CSGO at full fps without any problems = 300 stable fps.
He was going straight for this one, an i7 with 16GB of ram 480SSD + GTX1080, 2100€ for nothing...
Lucky me that I asked him before buying and I convinced him that you don't need to spend that much money for CSGO, although he also says he's going to play Battlefield 1 and stuff.Well, in the end I put together a configuration that I think is much more adjusted, the following:
- CPU: Intel i7 6700: I know that with an i5 6600 I would also have more than enough, if it were for me I would choose an i5, but you know that some people are not happy unless they see an i7. It's not K since it doesn't have any overclocking.
- Motherboard: MSI H170A Gaming Pro: A good motherboard for what he needs, with H170 chipset and quality components. It's not Z170 because he's not going to overclock and it's not worth spending more money on the motherboard.
- RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3200 PC4-25600 16GB 2x8GB CL16: The same as the i7, with 8GB I would have more than enough, but since we're at it, we put 16GB. Good speed and especially a good brand.
- COOLER: Cooler Master Hyper 412S: Here perhaps is where I doubt a little more, I don't want to spend as much as a Noctua but I also don't want to fall short... as you can see how does this dissipate? Any other suggestion for 40€?
- HD1: Samsung 850 Pro SSD Series 256GB: He doesn't need much space but if you want it to be super fast, that's why I preferred a PRO of 256GB over an EVO of 500GB, they come out at the same price. Besides, they have a 10-year warranty.
- HD2: WD Blue 2TB: For the rest of the data...
- Case NZXT S340: Here it's more of his choice, a beautiful and well-ventilated case, nothing more.
- Power Supply: Corsair CX550M 550W 80 Plus Bronze: A good quality power supply, modular and with just the right power needed for 1 GPU systems. You could go down to the VS but they're not the same quality anymore... Would you recommend another brand/model?
- GPU: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1060 Windforce OC 6GB GDDR5: I would currently go for the RX480 of 8GB, but the same... he wants NVIDIA no matter what. I don't think a 1070 is necessary for a 1080p screen that he has.
- Sound: Creative Sound Blaster Z 5.1 PCIe: Good sound card oriented to gaming. It's not a xonar STX but it has good quality and interesting options for gaming. Much better than any integrated motherboard.
- Card reader + CD/DVD burner
And this is the configuration I prepared for him with their respective comments.
I hope it serves as a bit of a guide for anyone who wants to build a gaming PC of a certain level nowadays.I listen to suggestions and comments, I guess I'll place the order at the end of the week!
Best regards.

Things that come to mind, without any intellectual basis to support them xDChange the GTX1060 for the Asus Dual version that comes out almost the same price.
Change the power supply for the Seasonic M12II of 620w although it raises a few euros.
I don't think I'll appreciate the Pro version of the SSD, so better the EVO of 500GB and you put the Samsung Magic in it so it lasts longer.
Remove the internal recorder and card reader, and opt for versions connected by USB, so that they are good for that equipment and for any other.
And the HDD, whatever Mr. @_Neptunno_ says, but I have always liked the Barracuda more ;D
Salu2!

@Rules ¿300 FPS?

Another one here who would put more power in the source, Corsair for me is a blessing, but I think a little more power is needed. Obviously, Seasonic is another brilliant brand, totally recommended.
Regarding the SSD, well, what is most necessary. It is true that Samsung is making its units very durable, and I for example covered the two options: the EVO for capacity and the PRO for warranty, to be safe. In my case I started with the PRO of 256Gb and expanded later. The difference was around 50€ in favor of the EVO of 500Gb.
If you have the money, go for it, if not, a PRO of 512Gb.In my case the 256Gb drive was a bit small for me because of the music production and the weight of the plugins, but the average user usually has enough.
Greetings!

Regarding the power supply:
So according to you Seasonic > Corsair? I mean power supply quality, not power. I don't know why you're pushing for such high power supply power... I made an estimate on the CM Power Supply calculator website and it comes out to 350W for the equipment above... so with a good 550W there would be more than enough. Another thing is that you tell me that at the quality level the seasonic is better than the corsair, but do you really think that 550W is too little? Note that there is no intention of doing OC or SLI or CF.
Also, personally I have quite an attachment to Corsair since the day they changed my power supply for the new model totally free 6 years after buying it and already out of warranty, an excellent technical service.
Now, if you say that the seasonic is better in features, then go for it!Regarding the hard drive:
As he told me, he won't use the pc for anything other than playing and browsing so... why would he need 500GB of SSD? I think it's better to put 256GB of higher quality, even if it's only a 10% difference in performance.About the motherboard and memory
I had no idea that the H wouldn't take advantage of over 2133...
Do you think it's worth going for a Z chipset even if you don't do OC?Regards!

Corsair is also great for me, I have a lot of experience with it and I am delighted, but Seasonic is a heavyweight in terms of power supplies. About power, I always look to the future, and more so considering that a Seasonic without stress is capable of lasting you several generations of PC... That's something else.
Regarding the SSD, precisely because it's for gaming I would be cured in health with more than 256Gb, because current games require more and more space, in my opinion it's not a trivial matter.
Regarding performance, certainly the 850 PRO is somewhat superior, but the difference is really scarce, here is a comparison:
http://ssd.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Samsung-850-Evo-500GB-vs-Samsung-850-Pro-256GB/3477vs2385Starting from that base, the decision is entirely yours (or hers xD). With one choice or another in both power supply and SSD, the performance will be pretty good.
Best regards!

I agree on the topic of expanding storage.
Any current game requires 20 GB of basic installation + another 30 GB in updates. Considering that the operating system is also there, it leaves no space for more than 3 games installed. -
When the budget is tight, I suggest the MX300 275, M.2 if it's for a current system, and as a complement, a mechanical tera. The main games on the SSD and the secondary ones on the HDD.
