Well, given the circumstances that I won't go into to avoid boring you (and which have to do with me having messed up my mobile phone), I got back to tinkering with my beloved iTouch 2G.
I had it all torn apart years ago, with its JB, its dock with 5 columns, the SBSetting... I customized everything I could on the device.
The thing is that when Youtube stopped working (Google removed support), I looked for a way to get it working again, and I had to wait for WhiteD00r... which turned out to be a complete piece of crap, and so out of laziness, I left it in the drawer.
Now there's no Cydia, no Hackulo,us, or a damn repo to use, which wouldn't bother me because I have tools, firmwares, and ips to stop a train... but I don't know why now it doesn't recognize the iTouch when I put it in DFU mode.
I've tried different versions of iTunes (from 10.1 to the latest, uninstalling, deleting by hand, and cleaning the registry each time), and the tools are the same ones I used back in the day (they're on a CD), but as I said, it's asking for me to put it in DFU mode and it doesn't go any further.
I'm thinking it might be the PC, because the only thing I haven't tried is digging out the Athlon and testing it there.
Any suggestions?
