Intel's 14nm plants fall short

And that's why the company is going to outsource part of the production of its processors to TSMC. This node has been with us for a few generations now (it is the longest-lived process in the company's history) and since 10nm has been close for a couple of years (they could come out of the oven for 2019), it doesn't make sense to increase their production capacity in the veteran 14nm.

Strange times are upon us. Rumors say that Intel will take a step back on the H310C chipsets where instead of using the 14nm, they will go back to the 22nm. Via Tom´s Hardware.

@cobito That's the same thing I've read on several sites. They have serious problems with 10nm, and since they've bet everything on that lithography, and it's not working, they have factories that can't keep up with 14nm. They thought they could handle 10nm without any problems.
