Lubuntu has trouble booting up
-
Hello, I just installed lubuntu on a laptop that I have from 12 years ago, but since it has an SSD it should work well.
I put lubuntu on it although since I was experiencing the following I tried to put xfce but it continues to do the same thing to me.The problem in question is that until the window manager starts it takes several minutes and once I log in it takes like 1m in or 2, oh I think it's giving me some problem with the graphics (intel) so the first thing I did after googling was to remove the xorg-video-intel package, but it does the same thing.
I say that the pc had a win10 and it started in 15 seconds and it went well, I removed windows because with the wifi card it doesn't work very well... it loses packets and I decided to put linux to try.
Thanks and I look forward to your responses

Precisely because it has an Intel iGPU, it should work well unless it's a PowerVR. If it has a fully Intel GPU, the problem must be elsewhere. When it starts up, does it take those two minutes on the start-up logo, inside Xorg, with parts of the desktop already loaded...?
What laptop is it?

@cobito thanks for the reply.
It stays with a black screen, until the manager appears I don't know if it has lightdm, once here I log in and it takes almost 1 minute to enter.
The model is an Intel Core 2 duo, a Compaq 610

@radge It has an Intel GPU. Assuming you are using a recent version of Lubuntu, all the hardware that this machine has has been supported by the kernel for quite some time, in principle without the need for external modules. If the bios lets you choose between Sata Ide or AHCI mode, change it no matter what, to see if you notice any difference.
