Access denied CD/DVD
-
Hello again everyone
My optical drive is not working and denies me access
Specifically it says: Location not available/You can't access E:/ Access denied
I have installed and uninstalled the drivers
I update them online and it tells me they are the best and current
I have manually disconnected it inside
I tried going to properties and giving a solution to the problem but it is still worse, it says I do not have permissions to access that route/folder/destination etc
To make matters worse it tells me that The device works correctly
In the advanced security settings tab it says, Current owner: Can't show the current owner
To cry
So I give up and decide to buy another optical drive
I install it and... well yes, you guessed it, the same problem
I am intrigued by the fact that I do not have permissions. I access the computer as Administrator
The curious thing about the case is that a while ago it worked well and after reading around quite a bit I have a vague idea that may seem stupid. The updates of W7 64bits through Windows Update could have made me lose control of the optical drives (remember that the new one also does not let me use it)
Well, I hope for opinions from the more daring
Regards

I add more information in case someone considers it necessary
Right button/Eject and it says: The CD drive (E) is currently in use. Save any files on this disk, blablabla
If you click on Properties/Volumes/Fill, it tells you the information of the disk inside: Title, MB Capacity, that is, the device works well and knows what is inside
In Properties/Security/continue, the folder opens and does not allow you to check the options that are blank, which are Permissions: Allow/Deny
I copy and paste what it says before
**No permissions were assigned to this object.
Warning: this is a possible security risk since anyone with access to this object could take possession of it. It is advisable that the owner of the object assigns permissions as soon as possible.**
I go now to Advanced Drive Settings/Audit/Add, as it is blank, I assign myself as a user, the system checks the name and says it is good, I click accept and it denies me saying Error applying security information E: access denied -
You don't say which version of Windows you use, but in any case, try to enter the Disk Manager and change the drive letter assigned to another free one (for example F:).
Salu2!

Hello, another option you can try is to start in safe mode, to rule out software issues.
If that doesn't work, try the drives in a clean Windows installation (newly formatted).
Best regards!

That option is really good, and it almost never fails honestly.
