Problema con GTA3 Vice City

Pues tengo un problema, instalo el juego sin problemas pero a la hora de hacerlo funcionar el ejecutable no salta ni me aparece ningun tipo de error…
Tengo Win2k con el SP3 una Hercules Ati Radeon 3Dprophet 9500pro con el DirectX 9 a 1152x864, he leido por ahi no se q de parches y de modificar un archivo .dat pero no me empapo de nada
a ver si me podeis ayudar THx
