Hasta 5Gbps sobre cables CAT5e y 6

La NBASE-T Alliance ha presentado dos nuevos standard IEEE. El nuevo IEEE 802.3bz soportá velocidades de 2,5 y 5 Gbps sobre los actuales cables CAT5e y 6.
Aunque en entornos corporativos los enlaces 10Gbps ya eran habituales, este nuevo estándar situará a los entornos domésticos y pymes en velocidades más actuales, anclados en el 1Gbps desde hace casi 20 años, justo antes de que sean alcanzados en ancho de banda por los pujantes estandar inalámbricos.
