Longitud maxima con cable UTP

Hola, tengo un router 3com 812 y tengo varios ordenadores conectados, pero todos muy cerca, en la misma habitacion o en la siguiente, mi intencion es poner uno en una habitacion mas alejada.
He pensado llevar un cable normal UTP (o como se llame, es que no lo se exactamente) y he estado calculando por lo alto y necesitaria unos 30 o 35m.
Quisiera saber si iria esto bien, o es demasiada longitud y tambien que tipo de cable necesito y si sabeis mas o menos por cuanto me podria salir esa cantidad de cable.
