Problemas con las Mushkin ?!
-
He visto esto en una web francesa ( http://www.x86-secret.com )
Mushkin , specialist in the modules dedicated to the overclocking, seems to encounter some problems in series PC3000 (183 MHz) of its modules GDR-sdram. Indeed, following a grouped order , trés many purchasers noted that the delivered modules did not tennaient the characteristics for which they were sold. (183 MHz CASE 2.5-3-3). Others by aillor noted that the voltage were to be increased with 2.7 even 3 volts (sig) instead of the 2.5 standard Volts. Let us recall that the chips used by Mushkin are chips overclockés Samsung DDR333. According to certain users, it would seem that the revisions "D" of these chips pose problems whereas the preceding revision "C" holds well its promise in term of performances. Without making comments on the attitude of Mushkin in this business, let us lancons in a small speculation speculation:
Samsung is known to have been in first A to produce modules DDR400. Or before this advertisement, the revisions "C" of the chips DDR333 (which functions almost systematiquement to 200 MHz) existed already. It is very probable that to justify the price of its future modules DDR400, Samsung decided to produce a new "attached" revision of its chips DDR333 (the famous revision "D"). Any Ca appears logical: Who would have bought a knowing more expensive module DDR400 than modules DDR333 of the same manufacturer have same the performances for less expensive?
In short, we had denounced at the time of our article on the memory the problems involved in the overclockés sold modules, they seem that we are in full inside. Mushkin is allowed to sell modules which exceed the technical specifications of the manufacturers of the chips while speculating in the tolerance. If the manufacturer in question reduces his tolerance (and it is always in its right since it respects his specifications), Mushkin finds the nozzle in water. Worse, the modules continue to be sold! It would seem however that the manufacturer decided to withdraw several modules based on chips samsung of his catalogue…
Business has to follow...
