¿Desactivar VRAM?

Un amigo me ha dado un portátil para que se lo arregle. El problema es que de vez en cuando le salen unas lineas en la pantalla. Lo he conectado a mi TFT y salen las mismas lineas. He llegado a la conclusión de que es la memoria gráfica. ¿Hay alguna forma de desactivarla y que se use memoria RAM compartida?
