Dispongo de un par de servidores dedicados bajo linux, y tengo la duda de que si para instalar el servidor para el counter strike es necesario hacerlo como root.

Lo de si necesitaras estar como root no lo se, mira a ver si hay faq en la web que te di o en el package en cuestion.
