I see very little of that graphics card to be honest.. like a want to and can't.. and only 200€? Since I'm changing graphics cards I'd like something much better than what I have now.. bottleneck? Man I think I have good equipment;D… and man in the future I wouldn't rule out a change of equipment... I'm undecided between these graphics card models to be honest.. what do you think:

Not much of a 560, as it beats the 260 you currently have by quite a bit, I almost prefer an SLI of 560 Ti, and if I were to get a 580 I would go for an EVGA DS Superclocked as it looks very good, before spending money on a card for a core 2 duo that, no matter how good it is, will bottleneck with cards of this profile, I would invest in a card like that or wait and build a new platform later with a sandy bridge for example.

you have a good computer... I think you're a bit mistaken. to mount a gtx580 you need at least a decent intel i5 or else the graphics card will be slacking off because your processor won't give more of itself. if you want to put a 580 go ahead, whatever you want, but then don't come here complaining that others get double the performance with the same graphics card

The topic of "balanced teams" has been widely discussed in this forum, which is useless to have a graphics powerhouse with a low-end or obsolete processor or a hard drive from the last century.

A processor two generations behind is already obsolete for a current "Extreme Gamer" team, any mid/low-end Sandy doubles the processing capacity of a core 2 duo.

okay.. it's clear to me now.. with my current setup, the evga 560 ti would be more suitable than, for example, any 580.. since it comes with overclocking and the price seems like a great deal.. so would that be the best option? or are there other more powerful options similar to the one techno is suggesting? within the capabilities of my system..

As I say, I think the best option being Nvidia is that one and if you change your equipment, buy another one like it when you change it, an SLI of these perform very well.

Even though your Core 2 Duo E8500 is a good CPU, your future GTX 560 TI or your future GTX 580 if you decide for that, will be quite limited by that CPU. I have a GTX550 TI that is quite inferior to the GTX 560 Ti in a Core 2 Duo E8200 (somewhat slower than your E8500) and it is being slightly limited by the CPU. Imagine what will happen if you put a GTX 580, or even the GTX 560 on your E8500.

A computer, in order to work properly, must be balanced, both the CPU and the graphics and memory and motherboard. It is no use having a powerful graphics card like the current GTX 580, if the CPU is not up to par. Or the other way around. Having an i7 2600K overclocked to 4.5 GHz and a "cheap" GT430.

That power supply perfectly supports the 560, with a sli it would be tight since they consume about 500W under load, but it is a decent power supply, I think a 560ti and a little OC would be quite balanced.

to be honest I'm looking at the 560 ti with OC and they look really good.. but I don't know if I should go for a very big 580 and let the CPU and motherboard process what they can and not lack graphics and rather have more.. (even if it does cause a bottleneck but I know I won't lack graphics) because the same thing.. I've been looking at the prices of what a new computer would cost me.. and to be honest I would build the biggest one like I did years ago with my current computer… I want you to tell me what graphics card you would put if you had to choose a 580.. ;D;D;D

I'll put some photos of my computer.. when it had the thermaltake cooling from the first ones that came out many many years ago.. which I changed for a ZALMAN cnps9900 led because I had problems with the water pump that broke and I got a really hot block on the CPU and it leaked and stained my gtx260 xfx graphics card so I managed to get it under warranty and they gave me the gigabyte gtx 260 oc..

well I finally decided on a 560 ti oc (vitaminadas;D)… from what I read MSI ``they say they are the best´´... like asus gigabyte and the rest... so I don't know.. which is the 560 ti oc BEST OF ALL!..

You are right to choose the 560 Ti OC

It is absurd to build a 580 with capacity all over the place with the idea that "it has more performance", and nooo, it is not like that :nono::nono::nono::nono::nono:
The bottleneck reduces performance, you would be worse off than with a more modest graphics card, simply because the "basic" performance that the 580 can give would be diminished by the lack of processor and you would have problems running games, video, etc. normally.

When they advise you, it is for a reason, and completely stay away from that damn topic of "big horse, whether it walks or not", that is my advice.
