Neptunno I have a voodoo doll at home if you want something old it even has games XDD

It's a big card you've put on, friend
Let's see if you're lucky and you get a little more Ram and a Phenom I (because I suppose that the II isn't supported by your motherboard, right?), which you can find second-hand for around 60 euros +/-.
And if not, let's see if you're lucky and someone donates it to you, haha.Well, I have a few less kilos of junk, but I do have something. Anyway, yesterday I was looking at what I could put together for the retro PC and I have two K7s that I didn't even know I had: a Duron 700mhz and a Sempron 2300+ (which is an Athlon 2000+ XP).
Probably for the graphics, I'll use the MX440 (so appreciated by me :chuckles:) or a GF3 TI200 that I love for its aesthetics. But, as I still think I would like to have an older one, I asked my boss if I could go up to the "storage room" at work to find a motherboard + micro (like a Pentium I or MMX).
For VGA, I have a TNT2, S3 Trio, Savage 4, Ati Rage… I don't know which one will work xDAnyway, I think I'll have to make a post with the assembly and "testing" of the equipment, haha.
Regards!!
P.D: wow what nostalgia when I was dismantling the PC where the Sempron K7 was, because the color reminded me of my 2800+ K7, which was my first processor :sob:
That time was one of the best, because I didn't know much about Hardware and the excitement you had, plus you didn't have much money and you had to look for it almost under the stones, anyway.
Haha, I look like grandpa Cebolleta xDDDHaha I understand you, buddy, I started dismantling MMX Pentiums and successive ones, many AMD K6 and K6-II that are still in the storage room… if I tell you that I'm also affected by the damn syndrome... xDD
Regarding the motherboard, I'm not very sure if it will support a Phenom and what type, since it's supposed that the AM2 socket is compatible with AM3 processors with the limitation of HT... I need to investigate a bit more because I'm not clear about that.
Regarding the memory, I was about to buy a couple of 2Gb modules recently, but with a view to changing platforms next year, I didn't decide.
Although I'm still waiting for donations as you said :D:D I'm still looking at H2M and SecretSocket, just in case... xDHey! I also have a couple of MX440s around here, in fact here on a shelf I'm looking at one right now xDDD Good graphics without a doubt, old glories like that make you appreciate what playing 3D games was like before...:chuckles:
I hope the assembly of those equipment goes well, and I'm already curious to see you open a thread for the assembly and put up photos, and so I'll follow you with a couple of gadgets from the storage room, I have micros even with passive cooling xD

Regards!

Neptunno when the mountains pass you the super pi
and you graph the 3D mark -
Neptunno I have a voodoo at home if you want something old it even has games XDD
which one do you have? I still have a voodoo 5 ;D
p.d: hey tecnho, see if you can check the mp, or come to the pidgin we need to talk.

Another one with a voodoo3 3000 per house

Let's see if I get motivated and upload some pics of the box already assembled

-
I had to have a Voodoo banshee, which was my first graphics card (from the first computer we had at home), but one is a memo and I left it with a friend of my father's many years ago and... you know what happens in these cases

The same thing happened one day when I went to his house to recover it :rabieta::mad:Hey! I also have a couple of MX440s around here, in fact, I'm looking at one on a shelf right now xDDD Definitely a good graphics card, old glories like that make you appreciate what it was like to play 3D games before…:risitas:

Joe, I have a lot of affection for the MX440 because I bought it without having any idea and I didn't even have much money, it was around 2002, ouch!!
And yes, I also hope to assemble these two PCs, one for Win 95/98 and another for Win200/XP and be able to tinker and play old glories xDDD
Creating the thread, that's a given, and if someone wants to get ahead, go ahead, jajaja.Regards!!
P.D: Tecnho, the day I go to your town, besides inviting me for a few beers, you pass me some that you have extra

-
Look here I put up a thread one day but I will end up donating to someone I trust for the moment I keep it in case I feel like building it some day I really want to, but in case I donate it you are in first place neptunno.

Don't tease me that I even have some branch open in H2M looking for a good mATX socket 462 motherboard, because a few months ago I got homesick for the era when I enjoyed the PC the most, with my Duron 800 first and the Athlon XP 1800+ after. I've even located on Ebay some motherboard identical to some of the ones I've had :D.
By the way, I let it drop that I have a book of my computers pending to post here.

can …. but sylver might want to haggle and the alternate guys :nono::nono: -
Many thanks to both of you :sisi: Tito, good offer, I appreciate it, the bad thing is that I only have two sockets, the inconveniences of the castaña board are... xD
The ones proposed by sir krampak are quite good, although the truly favorable thing would be to find a 2Gb DDR2 module to accompany one of the two that I have that is of the same size.I am keeping an eye on the forums for buying and selling, and other places, to see if... and I will take advantage, if any of you have something like that or find out about something, I will be extremely grateful if you contact me by private message or however you can

PD: Neptunno I also have a voodoo, exactly the same as CoUgSt, the 3dfx Voodoo3 3000
We should urgently open a thread with all those relics, since they are just collecting dust and I see that we are all very nostalgic, we will have to take advantage of them for a final performance, right??

Best regards!

Yorus, I have this motherboard "863G", which is quite old but well. I got it at work with the Sempron K7 that until yesterday I didn't even know what micro it was, because for months I had the "set" parked.
Initially I want to use the Abit AN7 and the Sempron (which is like a k7 2000+), but the motherboard gave me some problems.
If I manage to get everything OK, you can keep it, but you have to give me a good time so I can tinker with what I have, because this is complicated. Moreover, if I find a similar motherboard in the "junkyard of my work" I'll tell you, ok?

That said, Yorus, you won't get more equipment in the signature

Best regards!Well yes, today talking to my buddy from work, I told him about my initial adventures in this tinkering with PCs and I got very nostalgic.
Moreover, I think that having a "green" K7, like my first micro that I bought (it cost me €155 +/-), made me super nostalgic.
I remember that with it, and the 6600GT I played Doom 3 and had a great time!!!Best regards!!

Initially I want to use the Abit AN7 and the Sempron (which is like a k7 2000+), but I had some small problems with the motherboard.

That motherboard looks good, at least for what I'm looking for even though it's SiS, the truth is that it would be a good deal. Take your time, it's something that I'm not in a hurry for, it's more of a whim.
As for the equipment in my signature I've been enjoying the HTPC for a short time and I'm already thinking about how to get rid of it and use the main one as an HTPC too, because the computer room is right behind the wall where I have the HTPC and the TV, and if I fix it well I could pass an HDMI and a USB extender for the wireless keyboard from the other room and without works.
The secondary PC is the one at my parents' house, so that one will stay there, the good thing is that physically that is the largest and it's microATX, the HTPC is also microATX "video style" and the main one and the one for downloads are ITX.
And since we've been chatting for a while without photos here I put one from when I was assembling my HTPC. Right now it has an Enermax power supply that I bought at H2M and the Scythe Shuriken B that I had in the main one when I assembled the E5300.

-
The Silverstone Milo ML03B case is really cool, I already looked it up online when I saw your signature :risitas:
Why are you getting rid of the HTPC? Honestly, the whole setup you've put together is really nice.Well, I'll tell you something about the motherboard, for now I'm busy with my hands full of dust from removing Pentium II-III motherboards, and some Pentium MMX at work. My God, the amount of junk we have and that's after they threw out a lot almost two months ago.
Anyway, I keep on dismantling PCs

Regards!!

No, it works very well, but I see myself piling up computers and I get cozy

On top of that, I received an MP in H2M that a forum member has available exactly the board that interested me the most, mainly because I had it and because it has two SATA ports (SATA1, of course). It's an MSI KM4M-V. I have no solution anymore, I will end up assembling it and who knows if I will perform a MOD, which is a thorn that I have stuck there.
-

Saludos!

Well, my intention was to put something similar to what I had, since I have managed to get an identical motherboard, but I would opt for an Athlon XP 1800+ Thoroughbred, and if not, then I would go for something higher. As for the graphics card, more of the same, I had an MSI GF4 Ti 4200 and a Hercules Radeon 8500LE, which would be the candidates, and if I don't find them, I would look within Nvidia for a suitable option or I could opt for a modern Radeon (HD3000 or 4000 series, which are available in AGP) that are sure to be much more efficient.
Little by little.
I think we are going to have to open a branch about our "vintage" projects, hehe.

Reading you, I realized that the micro you mentioned (Athlon XP 1800+) is the one that is still giving a fight in the PC at work and is having marathon sessions of Autocad 2D, Office, Firefox daily, in addition to withstanding kilos of accumulated dust (every time I open it, I am amazed that it still resists, sometimes you can't even distinguish the circuits of the motherboard :chuckles:)... how great those micros are!!! they don't make micros like that anymore :nono:
Best regards
