      We already have the detractors of the apple XDD, I would have taken an android but I am not convinced by the models available, I liked the motorola xoom, but it's too bulky, then I was happy with the toshiba at200 but seeing how they are doing with updates I left it, and the galaxy tab does not convince me, so as soon as a galaxy nexus falls, I'll get a tablet from the little apple because I was craving a treat.

        I'm not being a detractor, I recommend Apple to anyone who doesn't have a good idea of computer science because little can be done with those toys. Well, they have just released the Xoom 2 with 8 and 10" of 9mm thickness like the iPad and less weight... if I sell mine, I might get the 8" one, because the 10" ones seem too big to me to handle with one hand.

          But come on, regardless of whether they are iPads or Android, they are used or not for the same thing, because the same apps that come out for iPad have their counterpart for Android.

          Is it possible that the same thing is happening with tablets that happened a couple of years ago with netbooks? Because of ignorance, people bought netbooks thinking they were like laptops but smaller without really knowing that they were much less powerful and limited, although they were cheap and light.

          Best regards

          P.D.; Techno..we already know that yours is just pure addiction. :risitas::risitas: say yes!! ;D;

            No, for iPad they are more "beautiful" but many more paid, in Android there is something called free software for example. Another thing is that you switch between applications quickly and easily, you have notifications and a bar where you can do tasks like connect wifi, change song, check the status of a download... without leaving the app. Android is more like an OS of a PC.

            Apart from that you can completely customize it, you have no limitation, if you like the launcher that comes with it, well if not you can even change it, of course you can change icons and widgets to your liking. With iOS it's what you see, a list of apps you click on the one you want and that's it, simpler for those who don't understand but much more limited for those who do. Also with Android you can connect any peripheral via USB like a keyboard or a joystick to play, and they are standard HDMI and mUSB connections.

            @Nemo:

            Is it possible that tablets are going through the same thing that happened a couple of years ago with netbooks? By misunderstanding, people bought netbooks thinking they were like laptops but smaller without really knowing that they were much less powerful and limited, although they were cheap and light.

            People in general love these gadgets because they are easy to use, and in the end what they do is look at google and porn... so anything will do for that. Anyway my tablet with a dual core 1GHz is as fast as my Atom and I don't even mention that soon the Asus Transformer Prime will come out with a quad core that will obviously be as powerful as any netbook ?

              I have to admit that I don't see the appeal. My brother has the iPad and I couldn't last 5 minutes with it. I don't like writing on the screen without a keyboard. I find it slow, and except for some things, like playing the game Angry birds or looking at photos, I prefer a notebook.

              I hope to get a mobile phone with Android in a few months and I will use it, but because having a system like this on a mobile phone seems like a great thing to me, but a tablet… it's that I was given it as a gift and I would exchange it for a notebook in a heartbeat.

              Honestly I don't see much utility in it. Even the very cheap and not too big ones that can be practical to use as a diary for example, but the bigger ones I don't like.

                That's the amd125 issue... for personal calendar, email, etc., there are mobile phones (iPhone/Android) that have the same functions but with smaller screens (and weight) that you can always carry in your pocket, and if you only want to browse, do office tasks, etc., there are netbooks at half the price and more powerful, and in the middle of the two, tablets.

                  I am sure I would use it in the same way that I am sure I do not need it. I was about to get one when I sold the netbook, but I realized that for just over 100€ it was not going to be anything special, so I preferred to spend it on the 24" monitor. But if I had an iPad, an Asus Transformer or something similar, I would definitely use it, because I like to check the internet during the breaks of the matches, during the ads of a movie... and a tablet is much more comfortable than a laptop or getting up to the next room xD.

                    As I have already said in the other thread and clarifying my answer to the survey, if I had it, I would use it (abandoning my netbook). But the price does not compensate me for the advantages with respect to the netbook.

                      Well, I must admit that I voted "NO", and I broke it two days ago...:(

                      Well, it turns out that for 96€ we could buy a tablet with Android 2.3 (upgradable) at work. Me and two other colleagues got one.
                      I must say in my defense, that I wanted to try Android, since I don't even have a mobile with this OS or anything similar, and at my job I'm starting to encounter situations of configuring some email and other things for clients... and I need a little knowledge.
                      It wasn't much money either and I think it was an opportunity. But I must say that if it weren't for the price, I wouldn't have jumped into the pool so easily.

                      For now my impression is... I need to tinker a lot to say something clear :risitas: Although I'm surprised by some things at the level of such good detection of some peripherals via usb.

                      Regards!

                        Well, yesterday I got my ipad2 and I'm pretty happy with it so far, waiting for a jailbreak for ios5 and to be able to push it further, but for now it's what I expected and pretty comfortable, now I have android and IOS and I like both platforms quite a bit, I'm testing this icloud thing to see exactly how it works.

                          What a traitor!! :risitas::risitas: like Judas :risitas::risitas:.
                          No, the issue is not whether they work well or not... but whether, for example, already having an Android mobile or iPhone is worth spending the 300 or 400€ (at least) that a tablet costs when you can do the same thing from a mobile.
                          Techno, you don't like to tinker with a gadget with microchips!!! :risitas::risitas: Enjoy it

                          Best regards.

                            No, si la cuestión no es si van bien o no…sino si, por ejemplo, ya teniendo un movil Android o iPhone merece la pena gastarse los 300 o 400€ (cuando menos) que cuesta una tablet pudiendo hacer lo mismo desde móvil.

                            Forear desde una tablet con pulgadas respetables es un placer y desde un teléfono de 4 pulgadas o menos, más suplicio que otra cosa…
