What a crazy connector to connect it, and I don't quite understand that kind of external power supply. I should have it in a display case, it's a very rare model from the beginning of the end of 3DFX.

when I read the title, I say "this one is wrong"
when I go in and see that the chicken is using a PCIe to PCIX adapter and plugged in a PCI to AGP adapter I would tell the guy to stop taking drugs xDD

it seems that they were the first graphics with external power supply (a bit rudimentary, though)

The jewel in the crown, that and the prototypes of the Rampage that ended up coming out ? I used to be fond of collecting 3dfx models, starting with the Voodoo2 3000 that I had (I still remember NFS2 Special Edition with Glide3D and my mouth waters xD), some banshee, voodo1/2/3/5 but I never had the 6000, the few that were seen on eBay were at exorbitant prices, undoubtedly a beautiful graphics card.

Edit: If I remember correctly, there were 2 models of 6000, one with the 2 to 2 cores (less elongated) and then the one you have shown.

What a graphic gem and even more so for its time…the truth is that it was the GTX590/HD6990 of the era, at least in terms of size :chuckles:

What leaves me amazed is the AGP to PCI and from this to PCI_E adapter, my goodness.
To say that AGP has died :p:D and who would have said that an i7 2600k could pair with an AGP graphic, wow!!

                          Regards!!

Few graphics have given me more satisfaction than my Monster 3DFX II with 8 megs. It only supported 800*600 unless you did SLI and it could handle 1024 but those were other times. Seeing the first and second Quake or the first Half Life move with those graphics was amazing.

It was an era when it was normal to have a computer with a crappy graphic card from the S3 brand and similar, but when you had a 3DFX the change was enormous. Then Nvidia caught up with the TNT 2 and 3; and when they reached the 3 series they started to get ahead. There was also Matrox but they didn't get along too well with 3D, and even Intel released a graphic card that was a total mess :nono:

The 3DFX only supported 16 bits of color depth, but who cared about that?

I get nostalgic ? sorry for the off topic ?

By the way the Voodoo 6000 came out already dead to the market. It was almost not found at the time because 3Dfx was already dying and it really didn't make sense to buy a card like that, but dual models like the 5500 were found more easily.

Watch out with the power supply only for the graphic card jajaja http://www.hwp.ru/Technologies/Voodoo.4/Voodoo5-6000bp.jpg

Well, times have certainly changed. My first proper graphics card was a Voodoo 3 3000 with 16 mb, replacing an S3 Savage with 8 mb. The difference was enormous. It's a shame it broke.

As for the invention, the PCI bus must be quite a bottleneck, right?

I find it strange that no one has noticed yet... he has put giant heat sinks on processors and memories, and then leaves the hint chip exposed without any heat dissipation? Someone should remind the owner of this one where almost all Voodoo 5 600s broke :vayatela:
