Hello, good afternoon to all, I wanted to ask you some questions that you know very well, and thank you in advance for the answers...

I have a friend who has the following equipment:

      Motherboard: ASUS P5G41T-M LX

      RAM: Kingston KVR1333D3N9/4G 4GB PC3-10600 CL9 240-PIN DIMM Processor: Intel Pentium D 930 3.00 GHz
      Graphics: Zotac Ge-force 430 1024MB
Power supply: it is a series one from the case, 300W (I told him that he definitely has to change the power supply to anything that says)
The idea for which he has the computer is for games, specifically he is currently very fond of Skyrim, but with the computer he has, he says that despite loving it, it is a pain to play (it goes to him in jumps, graphics and resolution are very low, and there are some momentary crashes) So to play at a medium-high level, I have recommended the following to him (let's see what you think):

      another RAM module the same as his: Kingston ValueRAM 4GB DDR3 1333 PC3-10600 CL9 KVR1333D3N9/4G DDR3 Memory
This power supply: B-Move Power Supply 600W OEM BM600WB Power Supply

For a graphics card, what do you recommend between 115 and 155 euros?????

And where I am definitely more lost is in the processor for that motherboard, because if I'm not mistaken, they all have to be Intel. And if that's the case, which one would you choose?

Best regards, and thank you very much, I look forward to it ?

Hello, I want to tell you that since you already have a 4gb module, you don't need to buy another one, since it won't recognize it, unless you have a 64-bit Windows installed.
Being a 775 motherboard, I wouldn't spend anything or very little, just enough for your friend to be able to play, within that price you have many graphics to choose from, the bad thing is that you might still have problems with the graphics not working properly due to that Pentium D 930 and as I said before, it's not worth spending money.

          Hello,
          thanks for your advice.

The Windows 7 you have is 64 and it does recognize it, there is no problem there.

I really need like water in May that you "illuminate" me. The problem is that even if I put a medium-high graphics card from now and the most powerful micro I can,
the limit is given by the motherboard right?
Which is already very tight in terms of what it offers, not to mention lame right? That would be the first thing to change, and from the motherboard to build up? Do you see it that way? Because that's the feeling I have.

That by changing to a motherboard of medium cost, I could put good processors and good graphics cards.

Best regards and thanks for your honesty, I look forward to your response <:(

I understand that you have a budget of ~200€ and also, the source needs to be changed.

Try to buy in a physical store to save on shipping, and for the source, at least a Nox NX520W or the NX620W (~40€).

With what you have left you can try to get a GTX560, although the micro will limit you a lot, but better than now, do not doubt that it will work.

The other option is to try to save ~600€ and buy new equipment, for which you could sell the parts you have.

            Salu2!

              hello.
well yes, no matter what the micro is, it has to be intel to be exact here you have the complete list of supported micros.
about the power supply ….. that it is for a friend is a joke ¿no? I think you really dislike him and that you hate him to death and that you want his PC to burn like the very fires of Lucifer's house in summer.
something like this with little 80 plus active PFC and so on.
graphics …. one of these 7770 would be half decent ( below it's not worth looking at anything, above …. it depends on the money you have ;D )
about the micro I suppose you should look for a second hand quad core here you have a list of micros if you look for something more almost better ( to avoid confusion follow the list of the previous link " list of CPUs supported by your motherboard" )
              regards

                Hello,
First of all, thank you for the answers you have given me so far.

And I ask you directly, the motherboard, would you throw it away from the beginning right? So that I can have better components so that the computer can last a couple of years.

Regarding the very cheap power supply, it was precisely the price that guided me, if it were up to me, I would get something similar to the one I have, a TACENS RADIX III 720 SMART MODULAR, the latter being important because if not, so much cable is a problem of what do I do with this son of…, that I do not need and it gets in the way. But the thing is that he does not want to spend money, and save everything for the micro and the graphics.

For graphics, apart from the ati, you recommend an Asus GeForce GTX 550 Ti 1GB GDDR5, (I think it is the equivalent of the HD 7770 right)???

I propose a new way to put it together. And buying it in parts, that is, the first time would go Motherboard, micro for example. And in the next one Power Supply and T. Graphics.
If so, how would you do it?

                  Hello

I see well that last approach you give it.
First buy motherboard and micro over the 200€ (for example, a cheap motherboard and an i3 processor, would be a good combination) and later change to a good graphic, although introducing a quality power supply is essential, the sooner the better.

                  Greetings

I personally, as the issue is gaming, I would do it just the opposite, first graphics and power supply, if I were to do it, the second-hand graphics and a little later the good micro board
                    regards
                    P.D in nvidia below a 560TI II I personally wouldn't buy anything

                      Hello,
what I am going to do is recommend that you do it like me. I went every year or 6 months buying myself a series of components.

As a power supply I will leave the one you have if you do not need more or I will leave you one that I think has a little more power, so in this sense for the moment, finished.

Let us now focus on the meat, you need for games, good graphics and good micro.
If we consider that it can handle with its motherboard: ASUS P5G41T-M LX; would it take intel socket 775 by the nose? I have been looking and I have not found. I imagine that second-hand there will be a lot but I do not dominate the market.
In graphics, I had thought of an HD 7770, I know that it would not have a problem, but being so powerful, it would make a bottleneck with the micro (the one that is chosen), due to the limitations of its motherboard. Not????
Or is it that I live with the idea that your board is dead? :wall: If so, please tell me.

Thank you very much and goodbye

It might be a good option to buy an AMD platform that performs decently. AMD has competent processors in the mid and low range, and I don't think your friend with the current equipment would be a demanding GAMER, so the idea could be to change platforms. Your friend's processor is very bad, a Dual Core but very bad.

Another option is to buy a decent graphics card first, and a power supply spending about 200€, and... look for a cheap processor like the E2180 second-hand, which can be found for 20-25€. Look on Ebay for example.

The only problem is that I've looked at the motherboard and I think it's not very good for overclocking. I think it allows, maybe I'm wrong, to do an OC of a maximum of 20%. That's little for some processors. The E2180 goes to 2000 but easily goes up to 3000, so you should look for a processor with a higher native speed. If you look at the Bios you'll be able to see if you can modify the FSB or not.

                        Regards.

Whatever you mount of graphics will most likely cause a bottleneck, but it's the only option, or you change the graphics and source now or you change the micro and memos card and whatever you do it will be unbalanced until you have everything. As for the 7770 it's not a beast of a graphics card (to be exact it's the low-mid range of ATI, comparable to an old GTX280, only that the gtx 280 was high-end) but to play it's the minimum I would buy, as I told you before from there up what the economy allows you, from there down nothing.
Second hand you can look on the forums or on EBay for a 5870 you can get it for 120/150 with warranty and that is a piece of a graphics card, but you will need a 500/600 watt power supply so because the equipment is for playing I would start with power supply and graphics and in a few months then the micro memos card.
                          Regards

Well, looking at the requirements for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, which is what you want to play, it's almost better to get the motherboard and micro first, and then the power supply and graphics. The memory as it is, if when you have everything you want to buy another module for the dual channel then go ahead.

                                Hello,
I already feel so much change of direction but I have been struggling to get a budget and change its motherboard.

The budget would be 400-450 euros, having the idea that this computer will be for games.

A requirement to be met is that the motherboard must be able to support the following RAM: Kingston KVR1333D3N9/4G 4GB PC3-10600 CL9 240-PIN DIMM (I am indifferent if it is from another brand but compatible with the one it already has).

Another of the things that should not be included is a power supply, as we already have one.

Best regards, I look forward to your response

With that release of money, what other components can be put in place that are better than the one you give me. Personally, I don't like the i5, being something so cheap on a budget, I prefer a micro amd that with tight budgets yields more, right? Best regards ferelxyx and thank you very much?

                                        @alvaro8800:

I had forgotten to tell you something else, a thousand apologies:wall:, Recorder/reader and hard drive.

With that release of money, what other components can be put instead of the one you give me. Personally, I don't like the i5, being something so cheap in addition, I prefer an amd micro that with tight budgets perform better, right?

Best regards ferelxyx and many thanks?

it is a 400w Enermax, but from what I see, I'll have to get a 500 one, right?
